So I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Parque don Jose on Calle Hercules, I wasn’t expecting much from this 3-star spot. But you know what? Sometimes the places that don’t try too hard are exactly what you need, especially in Costa del Silencio where the name literally means “coast of silence” and they actually mean it.

The thing about this hotel is that it sits in this wonderfully quiet corner of Tenerife that most tourists completely miss. While everyone’s cramming into Los Cristianos or Playa de las Américas, you’re here listening to… well, pretty much nothing except the ocean when the wind’s right. The rooms are honestly what you’d expect from a 3-star – clean, functional, nothing fancy but everything works. I mean, the décor won’t win any awards (think standard hotel furniture that’s seen better days), but the beds are actually comfortable and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. What really got me was stepping out onto the balcony in the morning – there’s something about that particular stretch of coastline that just hits different. The black volcanic rocks meeting the Atlantic, and if you’re lucky enough to get a sea-facing room, you’ll understand why people keep coming back here despite the modest rating.

The location is genuinely perfect if you want to escape the tourist madness but still have options. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk from the little commercial area where there’s a Spar for essentials and a handful of local restaurants that don’t feel like they’re performing for visitors. The coastal path that runs along the water? Absolutely worth the walk, especially in the early evening when the light gets all golden and dramatic. And here’s something the booking sites don’t tell you – parking is actually easy here, which if you’ve ever tried to park in the main resort towns, you’ll know is basically a miracle. The staff at check-in were… well, efficient more than warm, but they knew their stuff and spoke decent English. One thing though – the wifi can be spotty in some rooms, so if you’re planning to work remotely, maybe mention that when you book. The pool area is small but rarely crowded, probably because half the guests are out exploring the island anyway. It’s one of those places where you realize that sometimes a 7.3 rating doesn’t tell the whole story – sure, it’s not luxurious, but it’s real and unpretentious in a way that actually feels refreshing after all the resort nonsense elsewhere on the island.

  What could be improved: The map provided on the booking confirmation is terrible!!!! there is not enough information on the roads around the
  resort and the road the resort is on is a "one way" in the wrong direction making it very difficult to get to the front door!
  At 10PM in the dark it took a long time to find our way and the host did not provide a contact mobile number.

  Il Residence è uno dei più belli di Costa del Silencio. La tranquillità, la qualità della struttura, i suoi giardini tropicali, le due piscine, gli spazi comuni e la perfetta manutenzione fanno si che sia un oasi veramente gradevole per chi ci abita. I servizi sono tutti vicini e facilmente accessibili. L'alloggio è minimale ma perfetto per trascorrere una vacanza. Il letto è nuovo e comodissimo. La comunicazione con il proprietario e la sua collaboratrice Eszter è stata perfetta! Torneremo molto volentieri, grazie

  lo que máse gustó fue la amabilidad y simpatía de Eszter. nos sentimos muy a gusto desde nuestra llegada hasta la salida. flexible. tanto ella como el propietario estuvieron atentos en todo momento. el apartamento amplio y muy completo. me sorprendio gratamente el complejo en su totalidad: los jardines y fuentes, precioso,como un cuento y la piscina de agua caliente una gran sorpresa. muy bien ubicado. en los alrededores bares y supermercados . cerca de la playa.

  What could be improved: Siamo arrivati con le migliori aspettative. Prima notte mi alzo per andare in bagno e mi trovo le piattole in bagno e in cucina. Alle 7 del mattino scrivo subito alla signora delle pulizie e al proprietario ( nessuna risposta dal proprietario). La signora delle pulizie mi dice che in mattinata verrà la ditta della disinfestazione. Viene la ditta la signora mi manda le foto del loro intervento terminato il servizio mi viene chiesto di nn usare il bagno e la cucina fino a sera per far agire il veleno( giustamente) chiedo alla signora se ha provveduto anche a cambiarmi la biancheria e mi dice che lo farà il giorno perché ormai nn era lì ( penso che era scontato cambiare le lenzuola e gli asciugamani). Vengo avvisato della possibilità di trovare alcuni scarafaggi morti perché il veleno faceva effetto. Trovo alcuni scarafaggi ( alcuni vivi). Nel frattempo per fortuna che avevamo a i nostri amici che alloggiavano in un altro appartamento ma dello stesso residence dove appoggiamo tutto da loro. Penultima sera apro il frigorifero (vuoto perché il mangiare è il bere lo abbiamo lasciato dai nostri amici per fortuna ) e mi ritrovo piattole nel frigo. Morale della favola gli ultimi 2 giorni eravamo di nuovo pieni di piattole. Il sabato sera mi arrivata il messaggio del proprietario dove mi chiedi del check out. Spiego al proprietario dei problemi avuti e lui cadendo un po’ dalle nuvole mi dice che loro il loro lo hanno fatto e che se aveva avuto nuovamente dei problemi avrei dovuto contattarlo. Gli ho detto che avevo già avuto un problema iniziale e sarebbe dovuto essere compito suo assicurarsi che avessi risolto non io a lamentarmi. Comunque residence molto belle peccato per questo appartamento. Dovessi tornare al parque don jose staro sicuramente lontano dall’appartamento 212. Comunque allego foto degli scarafaggi trovati prima e dopo la disinfestazione (prime 2 foto e ultime 2)
