Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be straight with you about Parigi Hotel – it’s one of those places that completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a three-star place and expect, well, three-star vibes? This little bed and breakfast on Calle Jesús y María totally flips that script. I mean, the street name alone should tell you something about the character of this neighborhood – it’s tucked into one of those authentic Santa Cruz pockets where you actually hear Spanish conversations drifting from balconies instead of tourist chatter.

The thing that honestly impressed me most was how the owners (and I’m pretty sure they’re the ones checking you in, not some corporate front desk situation) really know their city. They’ll tell you which guagua line gets you to Playa de las Teresitas fastest, or that the little Mercadillo del Agricultor happens just a few blocks away on weekends – stuff you’d never find in your typical hotel brochure. The building itself has this weathered Canarian charm that feels authentic without being run-down, if that makes sense. You can tell it’s been around, but in a good way, like your grandmother’s house that’s been lovingly maintained over decades.

What really sets this place apart though is the breakfast situation – and I don’t just mean because it’s in the name. We’re talking proper local bread, those perfect little Canarian tomatoes that actually taste like something, and coffee that doesn’t come from a machine that’s been sitting there since 2019. The dining area overlooks the street, and honestly, watching Santa Cruz wake up while you’re having your café con leche is worth the price of admission alone. The location is actually brilliant once you figure it out – you’re walking distance to the main shopping areas and the port, but far enough from the cruise ship chaos that you can sleep past 7 AM. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (welcome to Santa Cruz), but the neighborhood has those blue zone spots that free up after 2 PM, and the hosts know all the tricks.

The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable without being fancy – think more “staying at your well-organized Spanish aunt’s house” than “luxury resort.” The AC works (crucial in summer), the wifi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the beds are actually decent. You might hear some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper, but that’s just city life, and honestly, I found the sounds of the neighborhood kind of charming after a day or two. That 8.4 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. For the price point and the genuine local experience, Parigi delivers exactly what you’d hope for from a good bed and breakfast, just with that particular Canarian warmth that makes you want to extend your stay.

My wife and I had a nice 2-night stay at this hotel. The room was small but clean and tidy. The bathroom had the essentials, including body wash and shampoo. We appreciated the breakfast service, which was provided by a friendly lady who made sure we were well taken care of.

We also liked that the kitchen where food is prepared is open all the time, so you can have breakfast earlier if
needed. They seem to leave out some pastries, jams, and other snacks for guests who want to have an early breakfast.

Gizela was very efficient friendly & I could see a very good worker. I didn't get the gentleman's name, he was sociable & made my room pretty.
Room 5 was bright with an adequate sized shower room. Plenty of quality towels & pumped dispensers for hand, shower gel & a separate one for shampoo.
    Water pressure was good.
The code access is user-friendly & a short walk means plenty of everything.
I greatly appreciated the lady who served breakfast on my last morning who kindly offered to carry my luggage to the exit. Although I didn't accept her offer thinking she had enough chores, it was a genuine gesture of kindness.
