Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Paraiso Sky on Avenida Adeje, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. The building’s got that typical Canarian apartment-hotel vibe, nothing fancy, but you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need. The whole area around here is actually pretty quiet compared to the chaos down in Los Cristianos, and you’re literally a five-minute walk from Playa Paraiso beach (which, despite the name, isn’t the most spectacular beach on the island, but it’s perfectly decent and way less crowded than the main tourist strips).

What really won me over was how the staff actually seemed to care – I mean, really care, not just going through the motions. The check-in was smooth, parking was straightforward (and free, which is becoming rare around here), and they gave me genuine local tips about where to grab groceries at the Mercadona down the street and which guachinches to hit up for proper Canarian food. The rooms are clean and functional – nothing Instagram-worthy, but everything works, the AC keeps up with the heat, and honestly, the beds are more comfortable than some 4-star places I’ve stayed at. The kitchenette is actually useful too, not just for show, which matters when you’re staying more than a couple nights and don’t want to eat out constantly.

Here’s the thing about this place that I really appreciate – it sits in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to restaurants and the beach, but far enough from the main hotel strips that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM. The pool area gets good sun most of the day, and while it’s not huge, it never felt crowded even when the place seemed pretty full. Plus, if you’re planning to explore the island (which you should), you’re actually in a great spot – easy access to the TF-1 highway without having to navigate through the worst of the tourist traffic in Playa de las Americas. The fact that this place consistently gets ratings in the 8.6 range makes total sense to me. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does well. Perfect for people who want a decent base to explore Tenerife without paying resort prices or dealing with resort crowds.
