Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about Palm Holiday – it’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way possible. When I first pulled up to Avenida Jose Antonio Tavio, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot, but this place has that lived-in charm that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something the tour groups haven’t ruined yet.
Costa Del Silencio lives up to its name, you know? The whole area has this wonderfully sleepy vibe that’s perfect if you’re actually trying to unwind rather than party until dawn (that’s what Playa de las Américas is for, anyway). The hotel sits in this quiet residential stretch where you’ll hear more birdsong than traffic, which – let’s be honest – is pretty rare along this coast. I mean, you’re still close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the madness that you can actually sleep with the windows open. The staff here genuinely seems to care about what they’re doing, too. Check-in was smooth, no rushing you through the process, and they actually had useful recommendations about the local buses and which beaches are worth the trek.
What really won me over, though, was how the place feels authentically Canarian rather than like some generic resort dropped onto the island. The common areas have this relaxed, slightly worn-in quality that feels genuine – think your favorite neighborhood café rather than a sterile lobby. The rooms are clean and comfortable without trying too hard to impress, and honestly, that’s refreshing. You’ll find little touches that show someone’s paying attention, like decent water pressure (crucial after a day exploring) and blackout curtains that actually work. The pool area becomes this lovely social hub in the evenings where you’ll end up chatting with other travelers, mostly Europeans who’ve discovered this quieter corner of Tenerife. Parking’s easy, by the way – not something you can say about every place around here.
Here’s the thing about this part of Costa Del Silencio: it’s perfectly positioned for exploring the south of the island without dealing with the crowds and inflated prices of the main tourist strips. You can walk to some genuinely beautiful coastal paths, and the local buses connect you to everywhere else you’d want to go. The nearest proper beach is about a 10-minute walk, and while it’s not the most Instagram-worthy stretch of sand, it’s got that authentic local feel where you might be the only tourist among Spanish families having their weekend picnics. That 8.6 rating isn’t just numbers – it reflects what happens when a place focuses on doing the basics really well rather than trying to be something it’s not. Palm Holiday gets that balance right between comfort and authenticity, which is honestly harder to find than you’d think these days.

Superb – Claire from United Kingdom – 9 April 2025 (9/10)
Nice small touches made the difference to our stay. Shower gel, beach towels, parasol, etc, which we were free to use. The supermarket was so close. Location was ideal.
What could be improved: The only minor detail (that isn't high on our holiday priorities really) was the tv. Just couldn't access smart tv facilities, but we didn't go on holiday to watch telly. So, no big issue there. Can't wait to come back – Em&choc from Ireland – 2 February 2025 (9/10)
Pino and Milly were excellent hosts. The apartment is very well appointed and really secure.
Very comfortable. Everything you could possibly think of was provided. Suncream, shampoo, tea, coffee, cooking oil…
The surrounding amenities are so good.
What could be improved: The shower works very well but the hot water tank is small and a little slow to refill. Not a serious issue at all but just something to be aware of when planning to get ready.
The complex was without water for a couple hours on 1 of our days but we managed fine.Exceptional – Wall from Ireland – 18 December 2024 (10/10)
The apartment was very clean upon entrance. The owner was very accommodating, he had the apartment ready early for us and offered late checkout.
Nice quiet location for couples.Great hosts, quiet location – Mark from United Kingdom – 3 April 2024 (9/10)
Nice friendly welcome on arrival by hosts Pino & Angela. Large bottle of water & beer waiting in the fridge, nice touch. Comfortable apartment with a nice terrace with armchairs and a table overlooking good size swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers. Central quiet & peaceful location in Costa del Silencio, close to the shops, pubs and cafes. Everything you need in the kitchen. The bathroom was clean with a shower. Large comfortable bed, wardrobe, table and sofa. Excellent WFI. Regular bus service takes you to Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos etc.
I was welcomed by Pino who was always ready to help with any problems. He was an excellent host. – Clough from United Kingdom – 16 March 2024 (8/10)
Breakfast was not provided but it was very convenient for the supermarkets.

This was by far the worst accommodation experience I have ever had. The property was filthy from the moment we arrived. The bedding had hair on it, surfaces were grimy, and the shower tiles looked like they had never been cleaned. Despite raising these concerns immediately, the host promised a "cleaner" who never showed up, then completely disappeared for two days.
We honestly don't even believe there is a cleaner for the flat, and perhaps is the host doing some "tidy up" with no cleaning products and pretending to wash bedding and towels.
We ended up buying our own cleaning products (at our own cost, receipt shared with booking.com) and spent an entire day scrubbing the flat ourselves (evidence available). We also had to take all the bedding and towels to a local launderette because they were unusable—and the host showed zero concern.
Even worse, the communal areas were unsafe. On day three (Easter Day) we were unable to use the pool due to drug use and drug dealing taking place openly, with 10 to 20 non-residents passing access keys amongst each other. We reported this to the host, while also chasing the cleaning, only to be told by the host that this was “normal” for Easter (see screenshot).
These people had the fob to the building that gave the access to all parts at the whole time.
When it was time to check out, the host once again disappeared. We were given no instructions and forced to leave the keys inside the flat—keys which are required to exit the property gate. This meant splitting up and leaving one of us vulnerable outside, just after a large group of drunk and aggressive people had damaged communal property and shouted through the night (perhaps the same people from the pool?)
The experience ruined our holiday.Sodisfa – Giussani from Switzerland – 13 April 2025 (8/10)
