Look, I’ll be straight with you about OkStay Apt Bencomo – it’s one of those places that grows on you once you figure out what it’s actually about. When I first walked up to the building on Calle Bencomo, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds a bit generic, and the exterior is pretty understated, but here’s the thing – you’re literally 50 meters from Playa Jardín, and I mean literally. You can hear the waves from some of the rooms, which is either amazing or slightly annoying depending on how much you love that constant ocean soundtrack.

The apartment setup is actually pretty clever. It’s not your typical hotel experience – you get proper living space with a kitchenette that’s genuinely useful, not just decorative. I made coffee every morning and picked up fresh fruit from the little market on Avenida de Colón (maybe a 3-minute walk), which honestly beat the hotel breakfast routine. The 4-star rating feels about right – everything works, it’s clean, nothing fancy but nothing to complain about either. The 7.2 rating makes sense too; it’s solid without being spectacular. You know what really sold me though? The location knowledge you get just by staying here. You’re in this sweet spot where you can walk to the beach before the crowds hit (seriously, go early), but you’re also close enough to the real Puerto de la Cruz that you stumble onto actual local spots. There’s this tiny bar around the corner where the owner remembers your drink after the second visit – that kind of place you’d never find if you were staying up in the touristy zone.

The practical stuff matters here too. Parking can be a bit of a hunt during peak season, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no overselling, just keys and directions. Noise levels are pretty reasonable, though you’ll definitely know when the weekend crowd hits the beach area. I actually appreciated that it felt more like staying in a neighborhood than a hotel bubble. You hear morning routines, people heading to work, the occasional late-night conversation drifting up from the street – it’s real life, which I find way more interesting than sterile hotel quiet. If you’re looking for resort-style service and amenities, this isn’t your place. But if you want to actually experience Puerto de la Cruz rather than just visit it, and you appreciate being steps from one of the most beautiful black sand beaches on the island without paying beach-front prices, then OkStay Apt Bencomo is actually pretty brilliant. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you discovered something rather than just booked something.

  I stayed in this apartment for 7 days. The location was excellent, situated in a lively district with bars and restaurants nearby. The apartment itself was spacious and functional, with a nice balcony. However, the balcony faced a busy street, which was quite noisy, especially between 6 and 8 in the morning, making it hard to sleep in. Additionally, one of the rooms also had two windows facing the same street, contributing to the noise issue in the morning.
  The apartment was relatively clean, but there were a few issues. The water pressure in the shower was very weak, which was quite frustrating. Additionally, the coffee machine was outdated and not very clean. I would have preferred a capsule espresso machine, as those are usually more convenient and provide a better coffee experience.
  The towels provided were not very fresh-smelling, even though they seemed clean.
  On the positive side, I was really impressed with the electronic check-in and check-out system. It was a great feature, as I didn't need any keys, and it made the late-night arrival hassle-free.
  Overall, my stay was okay, with a few inconveniences.

  La situación, a 2 minutos de la playa, la amplitud del apartamento, la comodidad de los colchones y la comodidad del acceso electrónico, sin llaves.
  Aunque no cuenta con aparcamiento propio, no hay problema para aparcar en la calle.
  La terraza es agradable también.
  
  What could be improved: La baja presión del agua caliente y las almohadas.
  Eché de menos que hubiera productos de limpieza y detergente para la lavadora. Todos llegamos a la isla en avión, sin posibilidad de traer ese tipo de productos.
  Ademas, en mi opinion deberían renovarse las sartenes.

  What could be improved: Las ventanas no tienen persianas osea cuando sale el sol ya te despiertas si.o.si además esta junto a una calle por.donde pasan absolutamente todos los transportes de turistas es cuasi imposible nonescuchar ruidos
