You know what hits you first at Ocean Wave Los Gigantes? It’s not the hotel itself – though it’s lovely – it’s stepping out onto Calle las Adelfas and realizing those massive cliffs are just… right there. I mean, you see photos of Los Gigantes online, but honestly, standing at the base of those 800-meter rock walls feels completely different. The hotel sits perfectly positioned where you can actually hear the waves crashing below, which sounds cliché until you’re trying to fall asleep to it (in the best possible way).

The place has this relaxed four-star vibe that doesn’t try too hard – you’ll find families with kids running around the pool area, couples nursing cocktails on their balconies, and the occasional group of hikers who’ve just tackled the coastal path looking pleasantly exhausted. What I really appreciate is how the staff actually knows the area. When I asked about whale watching, the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a brochure – he told me Tuesday and Thursday mornings are usually best because that’s when Captain Fernando runs his smaller boat, and you’ll spot pilot whales more easily. That’s the kind of local insight you can’t Google.

The rooms are solid, nothing fancy but everything works properly, and most importantly, the balconies face the ocean (well, the ones worth booking do – make sure you specify). There’s something about having your morning coffee while watching the fishing boats head out from the marina below that just sets the right tone. The hotel’s location means you’re walking distance to the little cluster of restaurants down by the harbor, though honestly, the climb back up after dinner and a few glasses of local wine is steeper than it looks during the day. Parking can be a bit tight if you’re renting a car – the streets here weren’t exactly designed for modern traffic – but there’s usually something available if you’re patient.

What really won me over was how the place feels authentically Canarian without being touristy. You’ll hear Spanish conversations echoing off the cliffs in the evening, mixed with German and English from other guests, and somehow it all just works. The 9.4 rating makes sense when you consider it’s not trying to be a luxury resort – it’s just doing the seaside hotel thing really, really well. Plus, if you’re into hiking, the GR-131 trail practically starts at your doorstep, and the views once you get up onto those cliffs are absolutely worth the early morning start.

  This is a very comfortable apartment, it has everything you could need, very near bars and restaurants, but on a quiet road. The terrace is very large with the most beautiful sea view, the sunsets are fabulous. We would return, we had a very enjoyable stay.

  My experience at the Ocean WAVE apartment was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I checked in, I felt extremely welcomed. The owners were professional, courteous, and always willing to help, which made my stay truly exceptional.
  
  The apartment was spacious, clean, and stylishly decorated, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The amenities in the apartment were top-notch, and the view from the terrace was breathtaking. Every morning, I enjoyed a peaceful breakfast using the well-equipped kitchen.
  
  The location of the apartment is ideal – close to the main tourist attractions, yet in a quiet area, which ensured peace and relaxation after a day full of adventures.
  
  Additional perks included amenities like the terrace with a beautiful view and access to a nearby pool, which allowed for complete relaxation.

  Everything was perfect! The apartment is close to the bars and restaurants in Los Gigantes yet is peaceful and quiet. It has everything you need inside the apartment and has a great balcony with an amazing view! Although the sun isn’t on the balcony till mid day, the pool gets the sun early so we went there in the morning. We loved our stay here and will definitely return!

  Przepiękny, rzadko spotykany widok – na ocean, na La Gomerę, na port jachtowy oraz klify Los Gigantes. Bardzo duży, jasny apartament. Piękna i odnowiona niedawno ulica przez którą się wchodzi. Bardzo blisko klifów. Na terenie dwa baseny, z czefo jedno świeżo po remoncie. Blisko do plaży i restauracji. Rewelacja

  Frábært hús og aðstaða. Staðsetning góð. Notuðum aldrei sundlaugina þar sem hún er frekar langt frá húsinu, þarf að labba niður 2 húsaraðir til að komast í hana. En heilt yfir mjög gott. Myndi mæla með!!

  Die Lage mit dem totalen Blick aufs Meer war wunderschön. Auch der Strand und ein Pool waren fussläufig zu erreichen. Die Ausstattung mit 2 Schlafzimmern und 2 vollständigen Badezimmern empfanden wir als sehr komfortabel. Die Küche erfüllte alle Wünsche.
  
  What could be improved: Die Unterkunft bot sehr viel Komfort und auch moderne technische Einrichtungen, die nicht ganz alle richtig funktionierten. Aber Karolina war sofort mit einer kompetenten Person zur Stelle und löste das Problem ganz zu unserer Zufriedenheit. Ich würde die Unterkunft jederzeit weiter empfehlen.
