Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Oasis Urban Barranco Grande, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place on this busy stretch of Calle Barranco Grande. The building itself is pretty standard urban hotel fare, nothing fancy, but you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re exploring Santa Cruz.

The thing about this location is that it’s actually in a sweet spot most tourists miss. You’re about a 10-minute walk from the main shopping drag around Calle Castillo, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling around at 2 AM. The Barranco Grande area has this lived-in neighborhood feel – there’s a little bakery two blocks down that does incredible pastries in the morning, and honestly, the local bar scene here is way better than the touristy stuff near the port. I mean, you’re still in the city center, so there’s some street noise, but it’s more like normal urban hum than party chaos. The rooms facing the back are definitely quieter if you’re a light sleeper.

What surprised me about this place is how the staff actually knows the area. The guy at reception – I think his name was Carlos – gave me directions to this amazing local seafood spot that wasn’t in any guidebook I’d seen. That’s the kind of insider knowledge you get when you stay somewhere that locals actually respect, not just another tourist factory. The rooms are clean and functional, nothing Instagram-worthy, but the beds are surprisingly comfortable and the AC works properly (crucial in Tenerife summers, trust me). The breakfast is pretty basic continental stuff, but decent coffee and fresh fruit. Parking can be a bit of a pain around here – there’s street parking but it fills up fast, and I think the hotel has some sort of arrangement with a nearby garage, though I ended up just walking everywhere anyway since the buses into town are so frequent from this area.

The 7.6 rating feels about right to me – it’s not going to blow you away, but it does what it needs to do without any major headaches. I’ve stayed in fancier places in Santa Cruz that felt more soulless, honestly. This feels like staying in a neighborhood rather than a hotel bubble, which I really appreciated. Plus, you’re perfectly positioned to explore both the city center and hop on buses to the beaches or up into the mountains. If you’re the type who wants to experience Santa Cruz like someone who actually lives here rather than just hitting the typical tourist spots, this is a solid choice.

  La verdad que todo bien, las instalaciones están bien, limpias y la terraza o azotea genial.
  
  What could be improved: Por poner una pega, la casa muy fría y no había nada para poder caldearla, no sé cómo será en verano de fresca o calurosa.
  La ubicación no había nada para comprar o no lo encontramos andando y dando una vuelta por la zona.

  Останавливались с подругой на 4 ночи, перед дальнейшим круизным путешествием. Больше всего понравилась терраса с шезлонгами, получилось позагорать, и столик, за которым с удовольствием завтракали и ужинали. С террасы открывался небольшой кусочек океана. Сама квартира – второй этаж двухэтажного домика, отдельный вход через дворик. Небольшая кухня, но всё есть, все работает, санузел совмещенный с душевой кабиной, интересная естественная подсветка – окно прямо над душевой кабиной в небольшой надстройке, такая же над кухней, днём светло не надо включать свет. Первый зал с удобным мягким диваном, теплые одеяла, спальня с большой кроватью и вешалкой для одежды. Отдельно на террасе вход в небольшую пристройку с сушкой для белья и стиральной машинкой, есть прищепки, а вот порошок стиральный – необходимо купить самим, также как и соль и сахар. Возможно, в дальнейшем отдыхающие оставят купленное, как это обычно бывает в апартах, мы оставили пачку сахара, для других постояльцев. Один из хозяев, приветливый мужчина, живет на первом этаже, один раз у нас захлопнулась дверь, а ключ остался внутри, поднялся помог нам, у него были вторые ключи. С ключом надо быть внимательными, дверь снаружи просто захлопывается, чтоб не остаться куковать на террасе – мы ставили ключ на столик перед открытым окном, когда выходили на террасу, снаружи можно дотянуться до стола. Отдельное спасибо хозяевам за вызов такси, мы должны были ехать в порт на лайнер, в этот день видимо многие садились на корабль и с такси была напряженка, хозяйка не поленилась 10 раз позвонить в компанию такси и всё-таки вызвать нам вовремя машину. Общались через ватсап с помощью скринов с переводчика, если не знаете испанский – лучше заранее скачать оффлайн переводчик и закачать на него языки. Вай фай работал неплохо. Довольно далеко идти до остановки автобуса, по карте она рядом, но автобусы в город останавливаются кварталах в двух ниже. Есть магазинчики, вкусная готовая Паэлья продается. В целом очень довольны.

  Il soffione della doccia, anche se l'acqua calda poteva essere utilizzata x 1 sola doccia , il secondo doveva aspettare per lavarsi, in quanto la capacità dello scaldabagno, non era sufficiente x 2 persone.

  Immobile freddo umido, poco accessoriato, in posizione scomoda, con una scalinata ripida, per accedere all'interno del locale, quindi molto pericoloso, senza estintore e privo di cartello informativno, difficoltà x lo scarico sia di bagagli che di borse con vivande o acqua, in quanto l'edificio era ubicato in una strada a forte pendenza, senza posto macchina
