You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Oasis Marina Apartament on Avenida José A. Tavio – I mean, Costa Del Silencio isn’t exactly the flashiest spot on Tenerife’s coast. But honestly, that turned out to be exactly why this place works so well. It’s tucked away in this quiet residential area where you can actually hear yourself think, which is refreshing after dealing with the tourist chaos up in Los Cristianos.

The apartament itself (yeah, they spell it the Spanish way) sits on the sixth floor, and I’ll be straight with you – that elevator ride up gives you a nice little preview of what’s coming. The whole building has this laid-back, lived-in feel that’s way more authentic than those sterile resort complexes. What really got me was stepping out onto the balcony and realizing you can see the marina from here, plus you’ve got this perfect angle toward the ocean that catches the morning light just right. The setup inside is actually pretty clever – it’s got that apartment-style layout where you don’t feel cramped like in a typical hotel room, and the kitchenette means you can grab groceries from the Mercadona down the street instead of paying resort prices for everything.

Here’s the thing about Costa Del Silencio that took me a while to figure out – it’s not trying to be the hottest destination on the island, and that’s exactly its charm. You’re about ten minutes from the airport (super convenient for early flights, though you do hear the occasional plane), and the coastal walk toward Ten-Bel connects you to some really gorgeous stretches of coastline that most tourists completely miss. The area around the apartament has this genuine Spanish neighborhood vibe – there’s a local bar-café where the old guys play dominoes in the afternoons, and the woman who runs the little grocery shop actually remembers your face after a couple days. I mean, try getting that kind of personal touch at a big chain hotel. The beach access isn’t right at your doorstep, but it’s an easy walk, and honestly, the pools and marina area give you plenty of water time without fighting crowds for a decent spot. After staying here, I get why it scores an 8.2 – it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does deliver is this relaxed, authentic Canarian experience that feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying at a tourist trap.

  Nice apartment in a residential complex with a great swimming pool, it has everything you need for life, fast Wi-Fi. Close to public transport and shops. Quiet, calm, very clean. Antonio is a super host!

  We spent 8 nights at this apartment, the owner is an amazing guy, super friendly, always helpful and available. The apartment is small, but very clean and tidy, equipped with everything or even more you would need during your holiday. The pool is close to the apartment, also clean and never so busy, enclosed by the apartments so only the residents can use it. We could park the car in the surrounding streets for free, places were always available. Shops and restaurants are nearby in couple of meters and a coffee shop under the apartments with freshly baked bread and cakes. Tenerife South airport is about 15 mins by car. Absolutely loved to be here from the balcony you can see the palm trees with the parrots. This place is highly recommended to someone who is on budget, but want to discover and enjoy Tenerife, or just doesn't want to be in the busiest area, surrounded with huge hotels and many tourists! Hope we can get back here soon.
