I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Nice apt with terrace in Golf del Sur,” I wasn’t expecting much. The listing felt a bit generic, you know? But after staying here for a week last spring, I actually get why they kept it simple. This place is exactly what it says on the tin, and sometimes that’s perfect.

The apartment sits right on J.M. Galván Bello street, which is honestly one of the quieter spots in Golf del Sur – and that’s saying something since this whole area is pretty chill compared to the tourist chaos up in Los Cristianos. What really sold me was stepping out onto that terrace for the first time. It’s not huge, but it catches the morning sun perfectly, and you can actually see a slice of the golf course from one corner if you lean just right. I mean, I’m not much of a golfer, but there’s something oddly soothing about watching people tee off while you’re having your coffee. The terrace furniture is decent too – not the plastic stuff you sometimes get stuck with. I spent most evenings out there with a book and a glass of wine from the Mercadona down the street.

Inside, everything feels properly lived-in rather than hotel-sterile. The kitchen actually has sharp knives (travelers will know what I mean), and the WiFi is solid throughout – I was working remotely part of the time and never had issues. The bedroom stays cool even during the afternoon heat, which was a relief since I visited during one of those surprise April warm spells. One small thing that bugged me initially – the shower pressure is just okay, not great. But honestly, after a day exploring the black sand beaches at Playa de la Tejita (just a ten-minute drive), you’re mostly just grateful for the hot water.

What I really appreciated was how easy everything was. Parking right outside? No problem. Need groceries? There’s that Mercadona I mentioned, plus a couple of local bars where you can grab a proper tortilla española – not the tourist version. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward hovering around a hotel lobby. The owner clearly knows the area well and left notes about the good hiking trails up toward Montaña Roja, which turned out to be one of my favorite discoveries.

Golf del Sur itself is sort of this perfect middle ground – you’re close enough to the airport (like 15 minutes) that arrival day doesn’t feel like a trek, but far enough from the main tourist strips that you can actually hear yourself think. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me. It’s not luxury, but it’s genuinely comfortable and well-maintained. If you’re looking for a base to explore the southern part of Tenerife without dealing with crowds or paying resort prices, this place delivers. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge – though honestly, that’s part of the appeal.

  The apartments are well equipped. The bed is comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bathroom is large. Terrace big.
  There is a restaurant next door where you can eat or drink. When I arrived, I asked the waiter at the restaurant and he explained how to get to the apartments. Thanks to them.

  We had booked 5 nights and found ourselves counting down to the day of departure. The furniture and kitchen have seen better times, and the shower head was held up by a patch job. Sleeping was only possible when windows were closed due to the noise from the busy street right in front of the apartment; and there was no air-conditioning. The plus points are the big terrace, the view onto the golf course, and the responsive/polite staff.
