New and cosy apartment – 4 min walk from the beach – La Tejita – El Medano

You know what really struck me about this place? It’s one of those rare finds where the name actually undersells what you’re getting. I mean, “new and cosy” sounds pretty basic, but honestly – this apartment in Las Terrazas II is the kind of spot that makes you want to extend your stay.

The four-minute walk to La Tejita beach isn’t just marketing speak either. I timed it (because I’m that person), and it’s actually closer to three minutes if you’re not dragging a cooler behind you. What they don’t tell you is that La Tejita is this gorgeous stretch of golden sand that feels way more local than the main El Médano beach – fewer crowds, better for actually relaxing instead of dodging kiteboarders. The apartment itself sits in this residential complex that’s quiet enough to hear the ocean on calm evenings, but you’re still close enough to walk to the center of El Médano when you want some nightlife or decent tapas.

Inside, everything feels genuinely new – not that fake renovation where they slap fresh paint over old problems. The kitchen actually has proper knives (miracle!), and there’s this little balcony where you can have your morning coffee while watching the Montaña Roja turn pink in the early light. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters if you’re trying to work remotely, and the shower pressure is honestly better than some four-star hotels I’ve stayed at. Parking can be a bit tight in the complex – well, it’s Spain, so parking is always an adventure – but there’s usually a spot if you’re not too picky about walking an extra minute or two. The whole Sotavento area is pretty well planned out, so you’re not dealing with the chaos of some of the older developments closer to the airport. One thing to keep in mind: if you’re here during winter, those trade winds can really whip through El Médano, so the apartment’s sheltered position is actually a huge plus. You get the benefits of being close to one of Europe’s premier windsurfing spots without feeling like you’re living in a wind tunnel. That 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been here a few days – it’s those little touches that add up, like having decent hangers in the closet and blackout curtains that actually block the light.

  Apartment was great and spacious. It has everything you need. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable Amazing roof top balcony if you want privacy. Pool was great and cleaned daily .No problem getting beds as it is not crowded. Easy access with your keys. Near to the supermarket and the few good restaurants in the area. Being GlutenFree there is a great restaurant Roots.which is Vegan and Gluten Free and has amazing food. Ideal place to stay if you want to relax and get some rest. Peaceful and quiet at all times. Near the airport but away from the centre of the bigger resorts and shops. Beach is just a short walk and the waves are amazing. The area is clean and safe. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet time away. No nightclubs or late night bars!!!

  It was a very modern building, thanks to the underground garages the area looked tidy and nice without cars. It was surprisingly quiet, in the night you could hear the ocean.

  A very nice and clean apartment equipped with everything you need (full kitchen equipment, fridge, microwave, electric stove top, dishwasher, washing machine and ironing set). Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. The apartment is located in a private housing estate with a swimming pool, elevator and underground parking. Very good contact with Lena. I highly recommend.

  The apartment was excellent & spotlessly clean. It has all the kitchen equipment including dishwasher & washing machine. It is in a quiet gated community close to the beach, a supermarket & a few restaurants. We enjoyed the solarium, it is very private and enjoys the sun all day. We didn't have a car but used the bus to visit the neighbouring El Medano and Los Abrigos, both had lovely restaurants. Lena was excellent & quick to respond to any queries we had. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back in the future.

  This apartment is exceptional, modern, spacious and very comfortable particularly the bed. The roof top terrace was an extra treat and fantastic if you want to watch the planes as the airport is close. Very secure property as gated.
