Tucked away on Avenida Principal del Pris in Tacoronte, it sits in this sweet spot where you’re still close enough to hear the occasional car but far enough from the main tourist drag that you actually get some peace. The whole Tacoronte area is kind of underrated anyway – most people zoom straight to Puerto de la Cruz or Santa Cruz, but this little wine region has its own charm. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by some of Tenerife’s best vineyards, and the locals will actually talk to you here instead of just seeing another tourist wallet.

The hotel itself has this unpretentious warmth that’s hard to fake. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, no complicated key card systems that never work, just genuine hospitality from staff who seem to actually enjoy their jobs. The rooms are clean and comfortable without trying too hard to be Instagram-worthy, which honestly was a relief after staying at some of those over-designed places where you can’t figure out how to turn on the lights. What really impressed me was the attention to small details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days – good water pressure, decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and thank god, proper blackout curtains. The beds are surprisingly comfortable too, though I’ll admit the pillows took a night to get used to.

But here’s the thing about staying in Tacoronte – you’re positioned perfectly for exploring the north of the island without dealing with the chaos of the main resort areas. The drive down to Puerto de la Cruz takes maybe fifteen minutes on a good day, and you can hit the Anaga Mountains just as easily. Plus, there’s something to be said for staying somewhere with a 9.5 rating that doesn’t cost a fortune. I kept waiting for the catch, you know? But honestly, it just seems like a family-run place that cares more about repeat customers than quick profit. The only minor downside is that you’ll definitely want a car – walking to restaurants and shops isn’t really an option from here, but that’s true for most of this part of the island anyway. If you’re looking for a solid base that won’t eat your budget and lets you experience a bit of authentic Canarian life instead of resort bubble nonsense, My Pris delivers exactly what it promises.
