Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Moon Place on Plaza del Charco, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star spot right in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz’s busiest square. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that surprise you, and this little place actually gets it right in ways that matter.

The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things. Plaza del Charco is where locals hang out in the evenings – not just tourists – and you’re literally steps from those amazing tapas bars that don’t even bother with English menus. I mean, you can hear the fountain from some of the rooms, which is either charming or slightly annoying depending on how light a sleeper you are. The staff seemed genuinely happy to help with recommendations, and honestly, they steered me toward some spots I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was smooth, though the elevator is one of those tiny European ones where you might need to make friends with your luggage.

What really won me over was how the place feels authentic without trying too hard. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re clean and comfortable, and the beds are actually decent – which, let’s face it, is what you really care about after a day of walking around the old town. The bathrooms are compact but functional, and the water pressure is surprisingly good. Some rooms have little balconies where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the square wake up, which is sort of magical before the tour groups arrive. Parking can be tricky around here (welcome to Puerto de la Cruz), but there’s a public lot about a five-minute walk away, and honestly, once you’re settled, you won’t need a car much anyway. The beach at Playa Jardín is an easy stroll, and you’re close enough to the Loro Parque bus stop that day trips are no problem.

What I appreciated most was that this isn’t one of those sterile hotel experiences – it feels like you’re staying somewhere that’s part of the neighborhood. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me because while it’s not luxury, it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re the type who wants to experience Puerto de la Cruz like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through, Moon Place is a solid choice that won’t break the bank.

  Great location, in the city centre. It can be louder to stay, but we choose to stay in the centre. And it is not loudly apartment. All good.

  The location, the balcony is good. The apartment is big enough. To sum up it was good for the price.
  
  What could be improved: The check in to the apartment was difficult, we had to wait 1 hour in front of the building waiting to send us the information how to enter the building.
  The towels and bedsheets have patches. There is a soap in the bathroom, but no shower gel, etc.

  Location was great, only caveat being the noise from the square below.
  The lack of reception was refreshing, it's feeling a bit more like home.

  Todo fue estupendo. El apartamento está muy bien situado, muy limpio y reformado. Fuimos mi pareja y yo con nuestro bebé de 9 meses y no tenemos ninguna queja, todo perfecto.
