This little gem sits right in one of those quieter residential streets that locals actually use, maybe a 10-minute walk from the main tourist chaos around Plaza del Charco. You know what really got me? The pool area – and I mean, it’s genuinely large, not just “large for an apartment rental” large. I spent most afternoons there just watching the mountains shift colors as the sun moved across the sky.

The mountain views are no joke either. From the apartment, you’re looking straight up at the volcanic slopes that make Tenerife so dramatic, and honestly, it never gets old. The place itself feels properly modern inside – clean lines, decent WiFi (actually tested it on work calls), and the kind of functional kitchen where you can actually cook if you want to skip the tourist restaurants for a night. The owner clearly knows what travelers need because there’s proper storage space, blackout curtains that actually work, and – this might sound silly – but the shower has real water pressure. After staying in places where you basically get misted, it matters.

What really makes this spot work is the neighborhood vibe. Calle de Valois isn’t where tour buses dump people, so you get a taste of how Puerto de la Cruz actually functions when it’s not performing for visitors. There’s a little corner shop about two blocks down where the owner started recognizing me after three days, and the walk to the botanical gardens is all downhill through actual residential streets. The rating of 9.5 seemed high when I booked, but after a week there, I get it. It’s not fancy in that over-the-top resort way, but everything just works the way it should. The only minor thing – and I’m being picky here – is that some traffic noise drifts up from the main road in the mornings, but honestly, by day three I didn’t even notice it anymore. If you’re looking for something that feels more like borrowing a friend’s well-appointed apartment than staying in a tourist rental, this place nails it.
