Well, I stumbled across this place on Calle Girasol – honestly, the street name should’ve been a dead giveaway since it’s tucked away from the main drag where most tourists cluster around the seafront bars. The Modern House With Private Swimming Pool (yeah, they went with the descriptive approach for naming) sits in this quiet residential pocket that feels refreshingly normal after dealing with the constant wind and sand that El Médano’s famous for.

The private pool is actually the real deal here – I mean, you’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Playa de El Médano, but there’s something pretty sweet about having your own little oasis when the trade winds are howling and everyone else is battling for space on the beach. The house itself has that clean, contemporary vibe without being sterile, you know? Four stars feels about right – it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and well-thought-out. The kitchen’s properly equipped (I actually cooked a few meals, which says something since I usually live off tapas when I’m in Spain), and the bedrooms are spacious enough that you’re not tripping over your suitcase every morning. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Calle Girasol doesn’t get the late-night foot traffic from the beach crowd, so you can actually sleep with the windows open and just hear the distant sound of waves instead of drunk Germans singing at 2 AM.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned if you want to explore beyond just El Médano proper. The TF-1 is close enough that you can easily shoot over to Los Cristianos or even make day trips up to Teide without it feeling like a major expedition. But honestly, I found myself spending more time just enjoying the slower pace here – morning coffee by the pool, afternoon walks through the quieter streets behind the town center, evening drinks on the terrace while watching the sunset paint the mountains. The 8.5 rating makes sense once you factor in that this isn’t about luxury amenities or concierge service – it’s about having a genuinely comfortable base in a spot that feels more like temporary local living than typical holiday accommodation. If you’re the type who needs entertainment laid on or wants to stumble home from beachfront bars, maybe look closer to the main strip. But if you want to experience El Médano’s laid-back side while still having easy access to all the windsurfing and volcanic beach action, this place hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  The house is over 3 floors. 1 room is in the basement at the back of the garage (it actually has two levels within this room and two double beds), 1 double bedroom to the front with a private balcony and 1 bedroom next door to this with three single beds. the middle floor has the kitchen, a toilet, a dinning and seating area and then the terrace with access to the pool.
  
  for the 4 of us, it was super spacious. the outside area is great with lots of options of where to catch the sun (by the pool, the main balcony or the private balcony.
  
  it’s a 20 minute walk into el médano. there is a small supermarket closer which is attached to the large hotel which is 5-10 minutes away.
  
  it’s really clean, the kitchen has nearly everything you would want in terms of utensils to cook. we made most breakfasts and lunches here.
  
  What could be improved: everything was great to be honest.
  
  the only tiny tiny things- there were no extra bin bags and no olive oil. but that is really not picking and wasn’t a problem

  Die Gastgeberin Tania hat sich via Whatsapp gemeldet, detaillierte Angaben gemacht und war immer erreichbar! Die Terasse lädt zum verweilen ein und in der Nähe ist ein süßer Strand, an dem nicht viel los ist. Perfekt für einen Aufenthalt mit Freundinnen und Familie!

  La terraza y la piscina estupendas. Cogimos días casi sin viento y eso fue estupendo. La cocina muy bien equipada. Las camas de matrimonio están muy bien.
  
  What could be improved: Que el garaje de la casa estuviera ocupado porque en esa zona los coches se llenan de salitre. Que la tele de la habitación no funcionara.

  Die Unterkunft hat unsere Erwartungen noch übertroffen 🙂 Sie ist um einiges größer als es auf den Fotos aussieht. Der Pool ist wirklich groß, man kann dort richtig schwimmen und mit mehreren Personen super planschen. Außerdem ist er beheizt, was absolut keine Selbstverständlichkeit auf den Kanaren ist 🙂
  Alles ist sehr hell und sauber. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden um gut kochen zu können.
  Die Betten sind bequem, wenn auch sehr weich.
  Seitdem die Fotos gemacht wurden, wurde viel renoviert in der Unterkunft. Am Pool und im Gästebad sind sehr schöne Fliesen angebracht, das Wohnzimmer wurde umgestaltet und auch der Raum unten an der Garage ist schön neu gestaltet.
  Die Vermieterin war zu jeder Zeit zu erreichen und auch der Check-in/ Check-out ging per Schlüsselbox völlig unkompliziert.

  Man muss nur wissen, dass es in der Region schon Recht windig sein kann.

  Alojamiento tal cual las fotos o mejor. Hemos pasado unos días estupendos y han estado pendientes de nosotros en todo momento. Facilidades de checkin y check-out. Genial la zona de piscina y exteriores. Todo muy limpio, camas comodísimas, la casa tiene todo lo necesario para pasar unos días estupendos. Nos dejaron tener a nuestro perro y sin problemas.

  La piscina nos pareció incluso mayor en la realidad que en las fotos. Tiene buenos espacios para estar en reunión tanto en el salón como en exteriores. El sofá y las camas cómodos
