You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I stepped onto that balcony and saw the Atlantic stretching out toward La Palma – I mean, the photos online were nice, but they honestly don’t capture how the morning light hits the water here. The apartment sits right on Avenida Maritima, which sounds like it might be busy, but Araya isn’t one of those touristy strips. It’s actually pretty quiet, especially in the evenings when you can hear the waves below.

The two-bedroom setup works really well – I’ve stayed in plenty of places where “two bedrooms” means one decent room and a glorified closet, but both rooms here actually have proper space and those sea views they promise. The kitchen’s surprisingly well-equipped too, which matters because while there are a few local spots to eat (there’s this little Canarian place about a ten-minute walk toward the port that locals go to), you’ll probably want to cook some meals. The wifi was solid throughout my stay – worked fine for video calls, though I’ll admit the view made it hard to focus on work anyway.

What really makes this spot special is how it sits in the building. Los Brezos isn’t huge or flashy, just a well-maintained complex where you’re not dealing with constant elevator chatter or kids running around the hallways. The C12 unit gets this perfect cross-breeze that keeps things comfortable even during the warmer months. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle – there’s street parking along the avenue, but sometimes you’ll end up walking a block or two. Honestly though, once you’re settled in, you won’t be driving much. The coastal path right outside is perfect for morning walks, and you can easily walk to the small grocery store and pharmacy nearby. Check-in was straightforward, and the property manager actually gave me some solid recommendations for hiking trails up toward the ridge – the kind of local knowledge you don’t get from guidebooks. At a 9.9 rating, I expected it to be good, but the combination of that view, the genuine quiet, and being in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble made it feel like I’d found something special.
