Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Mediterranean Palace? It’s actually right where you want to be in Playa de las Americas – literally on Avenida de las Américas, which sounds fancy but is basically the main drag that gets you everywhere. I mean, you’re walking distance from both the beach and all those restaurants and bars, but here’s the thing – the hotel sits back just enough that you’re not dealing with the street noise all night. Smart positioning, honestly.

The lobby hits you with this sort of elegant-but-not-stuffy vibe that immediately tells you they know what they’re doing. Five stars can go either way, right? Sometimes it’s all marble and attitude, but this place feels more… I don’t know, confident? Like they don’t need to prove anything. The staff actually remembers your name after day two, which is rarer than it should be. Check-in was smooth – they had our room ready even though we showed up around noon, and the guy at the desk gave us this genuinely helpful rundown of the area, not just the usual tourist trap recommendations.

The rooms are where Mediterranean Palace really earns that 8.8 rating. Everything works properly (shocking, I know), but more than that, someone clearly thought about how people actually use hotel rooms. The bathroom has enough counter space for two people’s stuff, the bed is positioned so you’re not getting blasted by the AC, and – this might sound weird – but the curtains actually block out light completely. If you’ve stayed in enough hotels, you know that’s not a given. Our balcony looked out toward the ocean, and while you can’t see the water directly, you get these glimpses between the buildings that remind you where you are. The pool area is probably the hotel’s best feature, though – it’s got this Mediterranean courtyard feel with enough space that it never feels crowded, even during peak season in July when we were there.

What I really appreciated was how the hotel handles the tourist area reality. Playa de las Americas can get pretty intense, especially at night, but Mediterranean Palace manages to feel like a peaceful retreat while keeping you connected to everything. The concierge helped us snag reservations at some local spots that weren’t just the obvious choices – there’s this Canarian restaurant about ten minutes away that we never would have found otherwise. Parking is handled through valet, which costs extra but honestly, trying to park yourself in that area is a nightmare, so it’s worth it.

Look, is it perfect? Well, the WiFi gets a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s online, and the breakfast, while good, isn’t going to blow your mind. But those are pretty minor complaints for a hotel that gets the big stuff right. If you want to be in the heart of Tenerife’s resort action but still feel like you’re staying somewhere with some class and personality, Mediterranean Palace delivers. It’s the kind of place where you’ll actually want to spend time at the hotel, not just crash between beach days.

I stayed at the Mediterranean Palace last year with my husband and daughter. We had such a fantastic experience that we returned seven months later. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, it's clean and well maintained. The hotel is also close to the beach and shops, an ideal location. The staff are friendly and helpful at all times. We were made to feel very welcome and loved every minute of our stay. Thank you
