You know what? MEDANO4YOU Magallanes Flavour Holiday Home is one of those places that surprises you – and I mean that in the best way possible. When I first pulled up to 6 Avenida José Miguel Galván Bello, I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from the street view. But stepping inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually put thought into making this feel like a home rather than just another holiday rental.

The location is honestly perfect if you’re planning to spend serious time at El Médano beach – and let’s face it, that’s probably why you’re here. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from some of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing spots in the Canaries, which explains why half the guests seem to be carrying boards and talking about wind conditions over morning coffee. The whole area has this laid-back surfer vibe that’s way more authentic than the touristy spots up north. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which… well, anyone who’s driven around Tenerife knows that’s actually a big deal.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail – I’m talking about things like actually comfortable beds (not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get in vacation rentals), a kitchen that’s properly stocked if you want to cook, and honestly, just the sense that they’ve thought about what travelers actually need. The “Magallanes Flavour” part of the name isn’t just marketing speak either – there’s definitely a local touch to how everything’s set up. You’ll find yourself chatting with other guests pretty naturally, maybe because the common areas just invite conversation without feeling forced. The 4-star rating feels right – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it’s definitely a step above your basic holiday apartment. That 7.7 rating makes sense too; it’s solid and reliable, though I’d probably bump it up a bit based on the value you get for the location. The staff actually knows the area well, so when you ask about where to grab the best fish or which beaches are less crowded, you get real answers, not just tourist brochure suggestions. If you’re coming to El Médano to surf, relax, or just escape the cruise ship crowds, this is the kind of place where you’ll actually want to hang around rather than just crash at the end of the day.

  The location is close to city center but still really quiet, apartment is large, beautiful and fully equipped. We especially enjoyed breakfasts on the balcony. Loved the complimentary local wine!

  What could be improved: Appartement vieillot et mal équipé pour un long séjour d'un mois. Pas de four, très peu de vaisselle et de couverts. Édifice mal entretenu. Travaux sur le site de l'appartement. Extrêmement bruyant de 7h30 à 15h30.

  Toller Balkon mit herrlichem Blick. Ein Genuss, den Sonnenuntergang mit einem Glas leckerem Bier oder Wein zu genießen. Sehr hilfsbereites und freundliches junges Team. Nicht durch den Vermieter zu verantwortende Beanstandung (Lärmbelästigung durch Sturmschaden) wurde umgehend und unkompliziert behoben.

  Poco, pues no era el apartamento que habia elegido. Lo pagué 2 meses antes y me avisaron dos días antes de entrar de que estaba en obras el edificio. Las opciones que me ofrecieron no eran lo que yo quería y ya era tarde para echarse atrás. La empresa que gestiona esto, lo hizo adrede para que no tuviera tiempo de buscar otra opción. Mala práctica.
  
  What could be improved: Había contratado un apartamento con unas vistas maravillosas y me dieron opciones de apartamentos peores, en mi opinión. Además, con una televisión que se apagaba constantemente y antigua a rabiar. Podían vigilar estas cosas por la pasta que uno paga. Y encima con hormigas.
  PD: Tras denominarme maleducado en su respuesta a mi percepción sobre mi estancia quería, en primer lugar, disculparme por si se ha sentido ofendido. En segundo lugar detallar un poco mejor lo ocurrido para que me entienda. Contraté un apartamento en primera línea de playa y con unas estupendas vistas al mar, cuatro meses antes de mi estancia. Lo aboné el 25 de junio, dos meses antes. El día 4 de agosto recibo un comunicado suyo para la realización del checking en donde se me solicita un cargo extra de 30€ para limpieza, por llevar mascota (algo que se debió haber hecho en el momento del pago inicial, para tener posibilidad de echarme atrás, antes de abonar los 530€ por tres días). Ciertamente, se me comunica que el edificio está en obras y sin piscina, pero no me importa, pues lo que yo quería era vistas y primera línea de playa. En ningún momento, hasta el 24 de agosto, tres días antes de mi entrada, se me comunica que hay un andamio tapando totalmente las vistas de mi apartamento (adjunto fotografía). Entienda mi molestia, pues no quería un apartamento con dos habitaciones, ni dos baños, ni parking, como ustedes me ofrecieron. Somos una pareja. Quería un apartamento en primera línea, con vistas, cerca del muelle y de Playa Chica, que me había molestado en reservar en esta plataforma 4 meses antes. No entiendo cómo esperaron tanto a avisarme de esta circunstancia, ni cómo pueden tener este apartamento en alquiler en estas condiciones. Bien sabe usted, que en caso de no haberme ofrecido alguna alternativa a esta estancia en estas condiciones, hubieran tenido una fuerte reclamación por mi parte, pues ese apartamento no debería estar en alquiler vacacional.

  L'emplacement à proximité de toutes les commodités, la propreté de l'appartement , la vue sur la mer , l'accueil de l'agence de location, l'entretien des communs où le ménage y était fait tous les jours.
  
  What could be improved: L'état de délabrement de la résidence dans lequel se trouve l'appartement , la piscine qui n'était pas accessible à cause d'un problème de qualité de l'eau, la grande difficulté à trouver une place de parking aux abords de la résidence en ce mois d'aout. L'appartement ne possède pas de place de parking au sous sol alors que celui ci est quasiment vide…Dommage .
