You know what caught me off guard about Médano Sunny Apartment? The name actually undersells it. I mean, sure, it’s sunny – you’re basically a five-minute walk from El Médano beach, which gets more sun than most people know what to do with – but this place has way more character than your typical beachside rental.

The location on Calle El Cano is honestly perfect if you want that local vibe without being stuck in the middle of nowhere. It’s tucked into this quiet residential street where you’ll hear Spanish conversations drifting from balconies in the evening, but you can still walk to the main strip without breaking a sweat. The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home (in the best way) – not one of those sterile vacation rentals that smell like industrial cleaning products. There’s real personality here, with local artwork and furniture that actually makes sense for the climate. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters because the local market on Avenida de los Playeros has incredible produce and you’ll want to cook with it.

What really sold me on this place was how it handles the practicalities that other spots mess up. The Wi-Fi actually works – I had video calls with zero issues, which is more than I can say for most places in the Canaries. Parking isn’t the nightmare you’d expect either; there’s usually space on the street, and honestly, you might not even need a car much since the bus connections to the airport and Santa Cruz are surprisingly decent. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no awkward key exchanges or confusing lockbox situations. The owner clearly knows what they’re doing, and that 9.1 rating isn’t just people being nice. El Médano itself is this interesting mix of windsurfing central (the beach gets proper wind most afternoons) and laid-back fishing village. You’ll see locals hauling nets in the morning and German windsurfers setting up their gear by lunch – it’s got this authentic feel that’s harder to find on the more touristy parts of Tenerife. Plus, if you want to escape the beach scene, the drive up to Teide National Park is only about forty minutes, and the contrast between the black volcanic landscape and the blue coast is pretty spectacular.

  Private swimming pool. Parking place in garage with remote control doors and gates. Quiet area, view to the garden with swimming pool. Great beach nearby with chuiringito. Perfect balcony for breakfast (west oriented balcony with shadow from marquise). Host was very helpful via whatsapp if needed. Very quick answers via whatsapp and assistance.
  Full equipped apartment (tooth brushers, soaps, kitchen full of stuff – espressocooker – dolcegusto, microwave, toaster. AirFan in every room). We found everything we need here.
  
  What could be improved: Bathroom need new silicone works in the corners and it would be perfect value for the money!

  Angenehmes, großzügiges und ruhiges Apartment mit Balkon und wunderbarer Lage direkt am Meer.
  Super, dass ein Parkplatz mit dabei ist und ein Supermarkt gleich um die Ecke.

  Gute, ruhige Lage nahe am Meer. Tolles Appartement auch für einen Alleinreisenden bezahlbar.
  Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Badezimmer top. Wohnzimmer und Balkon ebenso. Und ein Bett mit bester Matratze. Nicht zu vergessen der Parkplatz in der Tiefgarage.
  Die Kommunikation mit dem Team der Anbieter der Unterkunft war äußerst zuvorkommend, nett und hilfsbereit.

  Čudovit razgled, prijetno in mirno naselje z lastnim parkiriščem v podzemni garaži.
  Zelo odzivna in prijazna gostiteljica (komunikacija poteka le preko sporočil).

  Очень близко к тихому немноголюдному пляжу. Это сильно скрасило минусы, о которых скажу ниже. За океан и расположение 10 баллов однозначно. Рядом торговый центр с продуктовым магазином с приемлимыми ценами. Есть подземный паркинг. На пляже бар с вкусным недорогим кофе. Просторная кухня-гостиная.
  
  What could be improved: Пахло собакой. Как-будто бы собачка пописала на матрас, а тебе его потом простынкой застелили. Вот такой был запах в спальне. Кроме того для заселения нужно иметь работающую испанскую сим-карту, с которой нужно звонить на городской телефон, чтобы они тебе открыли дверь, если местной симки нет – то надо звонить за кошмарные деньги через роуминг с иностранного сотового оператора, иначе в двери жилого комплекса ты попросту не попадешь. Заходим в квартиру – а у нас весь шкаф в гостинной был полон вещей какой-то женщины и какой-то собачки. 😲Такое ощущение, что женщина-хозяйка квартиры на выходные поехала на дачу – а свою квартиру вот прямо так как есть со своими всеми вещами сдала квартирантам.🫤 Было неприятно. Не дай бог, дама бы потом заявила, что у нее что-то пропало и доказывай потом испанской полиции, что ты не при чём. Мы прилетели а/к Wizzair, тариф без сдаваемого багажа, жидкостей у нас нет – а в квартире ни шампуня, ни геля, ни т/б, одно разбавленное водой как в школьном туалете жидкое мыло. 2 дня просила, чтоб гель с шампунем привезли, так как в описании на букинге эти вещи указаны как "есть в стоимости" . На третий день женщина привезла гель и шампунь. Узкое место на паркинге, рядом столб, мешающий парковаться, Сеат Ибица еще кое-как влез, а вот если берёте машину крупнее – то можете не поместиться.
