Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to MarketHome Mareverde Studio on Avenida Ernesto Sarti, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come when you’re not trying too hard, and this little studio absolutely surprised me.

The location is actually pretty clever if you know Adeje at all. You’re in Fase II, which locals will tell you is the quieter part of town – none of that tourist chaos you get closer to the beach areas, but you’re still only about a 10-minute drive from Playa de Fañabé if you want to hit the sand. The building itself sits on this tree-lined street where you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of construction noise, which honestly felt like a minor miracle in this part of Tenerife. Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s street parking that doesn’t require you to sacrifice your firstborn, and I never had to circle the block more than once.

What really got me about this place was how thoughtfully it’s set up. The studio (I stayed in 8C, third floor) has this lived-in feel that’s way more comfortable than those sterile hotel rooms that all look the same. The kitchenette actually works – I mean, really works, not just for show – and there’s a proper-sized fridge where you can store groceries from the Mercadona down the street. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the wifi never dropped out on me, which is more than I can say for some fancy resorts I’ve stayed at. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, with good water pressure and one of those rainfall showerheads that actually feels like rain instead of a sad drizzle.

I think what impressed me most was how the whole place feels like someone’s actual home rather than a rental property. There are little touches everywhere – decent coffee cups instead of plastic ones, a few local guidebooks on the shelf, even some basic spices in the kitchen cabinet. The cleaning lady (María, I think her name was) clearly takes pride in her work, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no endless paperwork or upselling attempts.

The neighborhood really grows on you too. There’s this little café called Bar Ramón about two blocks down where the locals hang out for morning coffee, and if you walk up the hill behind the building, you get these incredible views of the coastline that most tourists never see because they’re too busy fighting for pool chairs at the big resorts. Evenings are wonderfully quiet – you might hear some Spanish TV through the walls occasionally, but nothing that’ll keep you awake.

Is it perfect? Well, the AC unit is a bit loud when it kicks in, and the elevator is one of those tiny European ones that might give you claustrophobia if you’re traveling with big suitcases. But honestly, for the price point and that 9.2 rating, it makes total sense. This is the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned because it just feels right – comfortable, authentic, and refreshingly unpretentious in a destination that can sometimes try way too hard to impress you.

  The apartment is spacious, new and clean and very nicely decorated. It’s a groundfloor apartment with a big shady terrasse. The terrasse is right at the pool bar/restaurant terrasse. The bar is open from 10 til 8 and they offer breakfast and lunch at very good prices and the people working there are lovely. The apartment complex is mostly residential so it is nice and quiet. No partying. The swimming pool with different levels is very nice. The closest beach is ca 5-8 mins walk and there are plenty of supermarkets around. The busstop is right in front of the apartment!

  La limpieza del alojamiento y la buena calidad de las interacciones, junto con una buena cantidad de comodidades, papel higiénico, una buena cantidad de toallas a disposición y electrodomésticos bien cuidados, la inclusión de lavavajillas, cafetera automática y tostadora se agradecen mucho y la botella de vino de cortesía se aprecia, las sábanas muy frescas y el colchón muy cómodo.
  
  What could be improved: El marco de metal que rodea el colchón es un poco molesto ya que es fácil chocarse la pierna con el, y la ducha tiene fuga de agua por debajo, donde está la goma que separa el cristal con el suelo, es propensa a mojar por fuera de la ducha el suelo del baño, pero fuera de esas dos cosas el alojamiento fue excelente.
