You know what hit me first about MARISOL? The name actually makes sense when you’re standing on that balcony – there’s something about the way the morning light catches the ocean that feels properly golden, not just the usual vacation rental marketing nonsense. This place sits up in San Eugenio Alto, which honestly is one of those spots that most people miss because they’re too busy fighting for beachfront hotels down in the chaos.

The apartment’s in Edificio Colina Blanca on Calle Irlanda – yeah, Ireland Street, which always makes me chuckle – and it’s one of those addresses that sounds confusing until you realize the whole area is basically laid out like a gentle hillside maze. Block A, second floor, and trust me, you’ll appreciate being up high once you see that view. The ocean stretches out properly from here, not just a sliver between other buildings like you get closer to the coast. I mean, Costa Adeje can be absolutely packed during peak season, but from this vantage point you’re sort of above it all, watching the ferries head to La Gomera in the distance while sipping your morning coffee.

What I really love about this setup is how it feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. The furniture’s got that lived-in quality – comfortable couch you can actually sink into, kitchen that’s properly stocked (not just two bent spoons and a broken can opener), and honestly, the bed situation is solid. You’ll sleep well here, partly because San Eugenio Alto doesn’t get the street noise that the lower areas do, but you’re still close enough to walk down to the restaurants and that whole scene when you want it. The building itself is well-maintained – I’ve stayed in enough vacation rentals to appreciate when the hallways don’t smell weird and the elevator actually works consistently.

The location’s pretty brilliant if you know the area. You’re maybe fifteen minutes walking down to the beach, but it’s that kind of gentle slope where coming back up isn’t going to kill you (though there are buses if you’re feeling lazy). There’s a little supermarket called HiperDino just a few minutes away – locals shop there, which is always a good sign – and honestly, the whole neighborhood has that authentic Canarian feel that the beachfront developments sometimes lack. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy periods, but the building has its own spaces, which is honestly worth its weight in gold in this area.

What really sells me on MARISOL is how it balances that proper vacation feeling with actual livability. The ocean view isn’t just a marketing claim – it’s genuinely spectacular, especially during sunset when the whole sky goes pink and orange. The apartment’s got enough space to spread out, the kitchen means you can do your own thing for breakfast instead of hunting for overpriced hotel buffets, and there’s something about waking up to that view that makes even the most cynical traveler feel a bit romantic about the Canary Islands. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next trip back before you’ve even checked out.

  The apartment itself is cozy and clean, has everything you might need for vacation! We cooked a lot, the kitchen is a huge advantage. Nice balcony with amazing views. We liked that there is a pool and sun beds for residents.
  The location is great – few bars and restaurants, grocery stores nearby, around 15 min walk to the sandy beach. The fact that the place was a bit uphill was not a bad thing for us – we better stay a bit further away, but in a calm and beautiful neighbourhood.
  Would definitely would choose this place once again!!

  Very clean; updated apartment with every kitchen gadget you could dream of. Always found parking within a block or two of the unit, so that was nice as well. Very quiet, except for the trash collectors at 4.22am on Wednesday. 😉 Fabulous Balkan restaurant just upbthe stairs called Calma Balkan Cuisine. Ate their twice. Would have gone more times, but there are so many great food options on the island.
  
  What could be improved: My wife shook her head when she saw a plastic red rose on the bed when we arrived … a bit retro. One recommendation would be to have a small folder mentioning restaurants and supermarkets nearby, and where you can take out your trash and recycle bottles and plastics. And please update the WiFi password to something more reasonable than the one on the back of the router. :-).

  Neighborhood was quiet, flat had easy access to the pool which was never crowded. It was easy and quick to get to main tourists places in Adeje by car. Would be a bit challenging without a car.
