Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Maresía Village? I was expecting another cookie-cutter resort, but this place actually has some personality. It’s tucked away on Calle el Parque in Los Realejos – and honestly, that location is pretty clever. You’re far enough from the main tourist chaos but close enough to Puerto de la Cruz that you can walk down for dinner without it being a whole production.

The whole setup feels more like a small village than a typical hotel, which I guess is the point with the name. The buildings are scattered around these little courtyards, and there’s this laid-back Canarian vibe that you don’t always get at the bigger chains. What really works here is how they’ve managed to keep things intimate – you’ll recognize the same faces at breakfast, but it never feels cramped. The staff actually remembers your name after a day or two, which is refreshing. I mean, you can tell they’re not dealing with hundreds of rooms like some of those massive places along the coast.

The rooms themselves are solid – nothing too fancy, but they’ve got that clean, Mediterranean feel with decent balconies. Mine overlooked one of the courtyards, and honestly, I preferred that to the pool view rooms because it was quieter. Speaking of quiet, this place gets the noise levels right. You can hear the ocean if you listen for it, but you’re not getting the constant hum of traffic from the coastal road. Parking was surprisingly easy too – they’ve got their own spots, and you don’t have to circle the block looking for street parking like you do in some parts of Los Realejos.

What I really appreciated was how they handle the local connections. The front desk doesn’t just hand you generic tourist maps – they’ll actually tell you about the hiking trails up toward the mountains, or point you toward that little family restaurant on Calle Real that doesn’t look like much but serves incredible papas arrugadas. It’s that kind of local knowledge that makes a difference when you’re trying to get beyond the typical resort experience.

The pool area hits the sweet spot too – big enough that you can always find a chair, but not so massive that it feels like you’re swimming in a public facility. And here’s something practical: they’ve got good WiFi throughout, which isn’t always a given in these smaller places. The breakfast is better than you’d expect from a four-star – local cheeses, fresh fruit, and they make a proper tortilla española that’s actually worth eating.

Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities, but that 9.3 rating makes sense once you’re there. It’s the kind of place that does the basics really well and adds just enough local character to make you feel like you’re somewhere specific, not just anywhere. If you’re looking for a home base to explore northern Tenerife without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist factory, this one’s worth considering.

Very nice and welcoming host. Yarmi gave us a lot of useful tips about the place and was very prompt with answering any questions that we had during our stay. We were charmed by the apartment with a wonderful view to the sea and sunset. In the evening the property was lit with a nice soft light, very well-thought and cosy.

Absolutely amazing! This was the first accommodation ever where reality was even better than the photos. The apartment is very stylish and has all modern furniture, super comfortable bed, relaxing private terrace and garden with sea views and beautiful sunsets each evening. The heated pool is shared with other guests but this is not a problem at all as the Maresia apartments "village" is small, secluded, always kept clean and very safe. The location is very quiet with walking/running trails close by and only a 10min drive from the center of Puerto de la Cruz. Secure Parking is available directly inside the area behind a gate to which you get a remote controller. We will definitely visit again in the future!

Apartment is fantastic – everything is new, well decorated, large terrace with amazing views
Every night you can enjoy with sunset! Very quite location, but close to the town centre where you can find restaurants/bars. Communication was easy and smooth with the host. Free parking at the premises, easy to park.
