Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places along the Canary Islands coast, but this spot in Tabaiba actually surprised me. You know what hit me first? The silence. I mean, you’re literally on Calle Francia – which sounds way fancier than it is, honestly – but it’s this quiet residential street that most tourists completely miss because they’re all cramming into Los Cristianos or Playa de las Américas down south.

The terrace is genuinely massive, and I’m not just saying that because Spanish apartments usually have those tiny balconies where you can barely fit a chair. This one’s got proper space for morning coffee (the sunrise hits it perfectly around 7 AM if you’re an early bird) and evening drinks while watching the Atlantic stretch out forever. The sea view isn’t some sliver between buildings either – it’s this unobstructed sweep that changes color throughout the day. Fair warning though: the wind can pick up in the afternoons, which is actually great for cooling off but terrible if you leave papers scattered around.

What really sold me on this place was how it felt like staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental unit. The owner clearly lives here sometimes – there are books in Spanish and English, proper kitchen equipment (not those sad hotel mini-fridges), and the kind of furniture you’d actually choose for yourself. The location is brilliant if you want to experience Tenerife beyond the tourist bubble. You’re maybe fifteen minutes from Santa Cruz when traffic’s decent, and there’s this little grocery store two blocks down where the owner, Miguel, will chat your ear off about local hiking trails if you let him.

The beach at Tabaiba is right there – it’s not the white sand Instagram fantasy, but it’s real and locals actually use it. You’ll see families with kids, old guys fishing at dawn, teenagers playing volleyball. There’s decent parking too, which anyone who’s driven around Tenerife will tell you is basically a miracle. I actually preferred it to the crowded southern beaches, though I realize that’s not everyone’s thing.

Honestly, the 9.4 rating makes sense once you spend a few days here. It’s not trying to be a luxury resort – it’s just a really well-thought-out space in a spot that feels authentically Canarian. The WiFi works properly (tested it on video calls), the shower has actual water pressure, and you can walk to dinner without fighting through crowds of sunburned tourists. If you’re the type who wants to be in the middle of everything, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want to wake up to ocean views, explore the real Tenerife, and come back to somewhere that feels like home – well, you could do a lot worse than this little corner of Tabaiba.

  El apartamento tiene todo lo necesario para pasar unas buenas vacaciones. Vistas la mar, una ubicación tranquila pero a 15 minutos de la capital. Camas cómodas, baños amplios, toallas de playa, una buena terraza donde. Para nosotros fue todo un acierto.

  Das Apartment ist grosszügig, modern und mit allem ausgestattet, was man als Selbstversorger benötigt. Die Betten sind sehr bequem, die Bäder modern mit Regendusche. Ein kleiner Supermarkt und ein paar Restaurants sind fussläufig zu erreichen. Die Terrasse ist geräumig mit Esstisch und Sitzecke bestückt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wurden bestens von unseren Vermietern betreut. Unkomplizierte und schnelle Kommunikation.
  Es gibt einen Stellplatz in der Tiefgarage, den wir selten genutzt haben, da Zufahrt und Stellplatz etwas beengt sind.
  Man ist in wenigen Minuten auf der Autobahn, um die Insel zu erkunden.
