Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to LuxLiving Tenerife Villa Hortalaya on Calle Navarra, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another vacation rental complex. But you know what? This place actually surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice place than some sterile hotel, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to properly unwind in Adeje.

The location is actually pretty brilliant once you get oriented. You’re tucked away enough from the main tourist chaos – I mean, you won’t hear cruise ship passengers stumbling back at 2 AM – but you can still walk to decent restaurants without needing a car every single time. The villa itself has this laid-back luxury thing going on that works really well. I’m talking about those little touches that matter: proper water pressure in the shower (seriously, why is this so rare?), blackout curtains that actually block light, and – this was huge for me – reliable WiFi that doesn’t cut out every time someone in the next room starts streaming Netflix. The outdoor spaces are where this place really shines though. There’s something about having morning coffee on your own terrace while looking out over the Adeje landscape that just hits different than being crammed around a hotel pool with fifty other people.

What really sold me on this place was how it handles the whole vacation rental experience without the usual headaches. Check-in was straightforward – no standing in line behind a family arguing about room upgrades – and the staff actually knows the area well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the tourist trap stuff. I ended up at this little local spot they suggested that I never would have found otherwise. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be some over-the-top luxury resort, but everything works properly and feels thoughtfully put together. Honestly, that 8.8 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting space to spread out, a proper kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the Mercadona down the road, and that rare combination of comfort and location that’s surprisingly hard to find in this part of Tenerife. Plus, parking is included and actually convenient, which – if you’ve ever tried to park in some of these Canary Island towns during peak season – you’ll know is worth its weight in gold.

  Wow. What a great villa. Stayed with 4 adults and 2 kids. Very spacious and top-quality villa. Host was very helpful and we will definitely be returning. 13 euro taxi takes you to the centre on Las Americas and there is a supermarket a kilometres away. The views from the villa are stunning, we loved every minute of it.
