Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Puerto de la Cruz, and this little studio on Calle Richard J. Yeoward really surprised me. The name’s a mouthful – “Luminoso y tranquilo estudio zona Botánico” – but honestly, it delivers on both promises. The light streaming through those windows in the morning is something else, and you know what? It actually IS tranquil, which is saying something for Puerto de la Cruz.

The location is pretty brilliant if you ask me. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the Botanical Gardens (hence the “zona Botánico” bit), and I mean the real deal – not tourist-trap close, but genuinely walkable. The street itself is surprisingly quiet for being so central, though you’ll still hear the occasional delivery truck in the early morning. The apartment’s on the first floor, which in Spain means one flight up – took me a minute to remember that when I was dragging my suitcase around looking for apartment 106. The building’s got that typical Canarian feel without being overly precious about it.

What really got me was how thoughtfully set up the space is. It’s not huge – it’s a studio after all – but everything actually works. The kitchenette isn’t just for show like in so many places; you can legitimately cook a proper meal if you want to skip the restaurants for a night. The bed’s comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with it, and there’s decent storage space, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights. The Wi-Fi works properly too – I had video calls without any drama, which is more than I can say for some four-star hotels I’ve stayed in.

The neighborhood vibe is what really sold me on this place. You’ve got locals doing their morning coffee runs at the little café around the corner, and the supermarket on the next street over has everything you need without the tourist markup. It’s about a fifteen-minute walk to the main plaza and all the waterfront action, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the late-night crowd noise. Actually, I found myself looking forward to that walk each day – it goes through some lovely residential streets where you see how people actually live here, not just the postcard version.

I’ll be honest, the check-in process was a bit of a dance – you know how it is with these independent places, lots of WhatsApp messages and “meet me at this corner” instructions. But once you’re settled, it’s smooth sailing. The 9.2 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be a fancy resort, but it nails what it’s going for. If you want a genuine base for exploring Puerto de la Cruz without paying through the nose for location, and you don’t need someone to carry your bags and bring you towels, this place gets it right.

  I spent 30 days in this studio and I was completely satisfied. The studio is fully equipped for long stays. It is very cozy, clean and bright AND with a really beautiful view of the top of Mt. Teide. The location of the studio is also very good, because there are many restaurants, cafes and markets nearby and just something about 10-12 minutes from the center by foot. The owner of the house was really nice and welcomed me warmly and gave me a lot of tips to eating out or tips for trips in Tenerife. Also a bowl of fruit and champagne were waiting for me there. Thanks to a fast internet connection I was able to work there remotely on my computer. I really recommend this studio for work or leisure time.

  Ivan was a fantastic host! My flight arrived late and then I had to wait ages for the shuttle bus-Ivan met me at the bus stop and escorted me to the apartment which I really appreciated as a solo traveller. He was very responsive to messages, and made me feel very welcome in Tenerife.
  
  The apartment is lovely and has a cute ‘tropical’ theme, modern furniture and comfy bed. It has everything you need and was spotlessly clean. Most importantly, it was very quiet!
  
  The location is great, La Paz has bars and restaurants plus you can walk into Puerto de La Cruz. We also got a bus from near the apartment into Santa Cruz which was super easy.

  The studio was located close to a supermarket and several bars and restaurants and also The Botanical gardens. The property had a well equipped kitchen, a king size bed, TV, with a dining/seating area. The view from the rear window was of a lawned garden (communal) with an access door. The location of the property was very quiet all of the time. Walking into Puerto de la Cruz took around 15 minutes for lots more attractions. Ivan the host gave us lots of ideas and information to make our stay more enjoyable and he was very friendly.

  Very lovely quiet location. Bus, restaurants and supermarket 2 minutes away. 15 mins walk to beach. Lovely host and everything you need is in this apartment. Would highly recommend.

  Lovely appartement, every thing was just perfect. It was clean and quiet, with all you need for a restful stay. The location is very convenient, at 5 min walking from the botanical garden and 15min from the city center.
  Iván is a very nice host, he gave me lot of good adresses for local restaurants and nice places to visit. I would definitely come back next time!
