Look, I’ll be straight with you about Lovely Stay Studio by TOR – it’s one of those places that gets Puerto de la Cruz right without trying too hard. You know how some hotels feel like they could be anywhere? This isn’t that. Tucked on Avenida Venezuela (which, honestly, sounds way more intimidating than it is), you’re basically in the sweet spot where locals actually live but tourists don’t usually think to look.

The studio itself is… well, it’s exactly what you’d want if you’re the type who doesn’t need someone making your bed every day. I mean, it’s got that clean, unfussy vibe that makes you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place – if your friend happened to have really good taste and actually knew how to set up a space properly. The building’s got character, you know? Those old Canarian apartment blocks that feel solid and lived-in. You’ll hear some neighborhood sounds – kids playing in the courtyard, someone’s TV through the walls occasionally – but it’s the good kind of noise that makes you feel like you’re actually somewhere real, not some sterile hotel bubble.

What really sold me on the area is that you can walk to the old town in about ten minutes, but you’re far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t get woken up by drunk British tourists at 3 AM (no offense to British tourists, but you know what I mean). There’s this little bakery just down the street where the woman behind the counter will remember your coffee order by day three, and honestly, that’s worth more than any fancy hotel amenities. The beach – the black sand one that looks almost too dramatic to be real – is close enough that you can pop over whenever, but you’re not dealing with the constant stream of beach vendors and tour groups right outside your window.

Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town, I’ll give you that, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that overly formal front desk theater, just someone who knew what they were doing and got you sorted quickly. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without any unnecessary flourishes. You get clean, comfortable, well-located accommodation that doesn’t cost a fortune and doesn’t try to be something it’s not. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially in a place like Puerto de la Cruz where the real attractions are outside your door anyway.

  Perfect location in the heart of the city, plenty of bars, restaurants, shops nearby. Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine in the bathroom. The apartment is small but has everything needed for a great stay. Spotless clean.

  What could be improved: It's very hot in the apartment during day time, as it is very sunny. Lack of air-conditioning is not helping. But for someone who is spending the day outside exploring the island it's not a problem. During the night it's totally ok.

  Good small apartment with all what you need available. Some say bed is to small but me and my partner found it comfortable and big enough. Good area with restaurants, shops and bars close by. Takes only couple minutes to walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again.
  
  What could be improved: Water in bathroom sink and kitchen would not go away sometimes. Smelly drain in kitchen sink. Pool is not heated and water seemed twice as cold as ocean.
