Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Tenerife, but this one on Calle del Valle Menéndez actually surprised me. The Cris Sol isn’t trying to be some flashy resort – it’s just solidly good at what it does. You know what I mean? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t oversell themselves.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in Los Cristianos without dealing with the absolute chaos of the main beachfront strip. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Playa de Los Cristianos, but tucked away enough that you’re not hearing drunk tourists stumbling back at 3 AM. The building itself – well, it’s not going to win any architecture awards, but it’s clean and modern inside, and that pool area is actually really nice. I spent most mornings there with coffee before the sun got too intense. The WiFi works everywhere, which is more than I can say for half the places I’ve stayed in the Canaries.

What really sold me was the little details. The front desk staff actually knew the area – like, when I asked about the best time to catch the ferry to La Gomera, they told me about the 8:30 departure that locals use instead of just handing me a brochure. The rooms are bigger than you’d expect, and honestly, the air conditioning works properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case). I had a room facing the valley side, which was quieter than the street-facing ones, though the traffic on Valle Menéndez isn’t too bad anyway. The kitchenette setup is actually useful – there’s a decent-sized fridge and proper counter space, not just some token mini-setup.

Here’s something I appreciated: they don’t overdo the tourist stuff. No pushy entertainment or forced activities. It’s more like… you’re staying in a really nice apartment building where everyone happens to be on vacation. The pool gets busy around 11 AM when families come down, but early morning and late afternoon it’s pretty peaceful. There’s this little supermarket called HiperDino about five minutes away if you want to grab supplies, and the walk down to the harbor takes maybe ten minutes if you’re not in a hurry. You can actually see the port from some of the upper floors – not exactly a sea view, but you get glimpses of the water and the boats heading to La Palma.

The only thing I’d mention is that it can get a bit echo-y in the stairwells – Spanish families tend to be, well, enthusiastic, especially during school holidays. But that’s more charming than annoying, honestly. And if you’re planning to rent a car, there’s usually street parking nearby, though it gets tighter in the evenings when everyone’s back from the beach. The whole area feels safe to walk around, even late at night, which isn’t something I take for granted everywhere.

Bottom line – if you want a proper base in Los Cristianos without paying resort prices, this place gets it right. It’s not fancy, but it’s smart, comfortable, and run by people who actually care about the details that matter.

  A great location just 5 mins walk to the sea front, and it felt like an apartment block where people live, rather than only for tourists. Large balcony area, view over swimming pool. Maria met us at the apartment and explained everything to us. No aircon, but there were ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom.
  
  What could be improved: Gaining entry to the complex and the door into the block were a bit difficult with the key fob and it nearly always took us several goes – there's probably a knack to it, but we didn't work it out in the week we were there!
  The water in the pool is not heated, so too cold to swim in January!

  The apartment is close to the beach, and is located in a silent part of Los Cristianos. There is a pool and a garden with palm trees, dragon tree and other nice plants. It is well equipped. There are free parking places in the close streets. There is WIFI and even international TV channels available. Our hosts were very nice and helpful.
