You know what caught me off guard about Las Vistas? The name actually delivers – I mean, you really do get those ocean views they promise, not some sliver of blue you need to crane your neck to see. The apartment sits right on Avenida la Habana in Los Cristianos, which honestly is one of those streets that sounds way more glamorous than it looks at first glance. But here’s the thing – you’re literally a five-minute walk from the beach, and not just any beach, but that gorgeous stretch of sand that locals still use (unlike some of the more touristy spots further north). The building itself is sort of typical Canarian architecture, nothing fancy, but it’s solid and the elevator actually works, which… well, you’d be surprised how often that’s not a given in this area.

What really won me over was how the two bedrooms are actually set up for real people, not just crammed with beds like some places do. There’s decent storage space – and I mean actual hanging space for clothes, not just those tiny European wardrobes that fit three shirts. The kitchen surprised me too; it’s got everything you need if you want to hit the local market (there’s a great one on Saturday mornings just down the hill) and actually cook something. The WiFi is solid throughout the apartment, which is clutch if you’re trying to work remotely or just want to stream something after a day in the sun. The ocean view from the main room is honestly the star of the show – you can watch the ferries coming and going to La Gomera, and in the evenings, the light hits the water just right. It gets a bit breezy up there, but that’s actually perfect when it’s hot, and Los Cristianos can get properly hot in summer.

The neighborhood is interesting – it’s residential enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of the main tourist drag, but you’re still close enough to walk to decent restaurants and that big Mercadona if you need groceries. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (street parking is hit or miss, especially during peak season), but the buses run regularly if you don’t have a car. I’d say the 8.2 rating is about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s comfortable and functional, with that view bumping it up from ordinary. The check-in was smooth, and the place was clean, though the furniture is a bit dated. Honestly, for the price point and location, it’s a solid choice, especially if you want to feel like you’re actually staying somewhere with character rather than just another generic hotel room.

  From the very start, when were met by Valentina and Umberto they were brilliant hosts and always on the end of a message if we needed anything. They were lovely.
