Hotel Description
You know what? I almost walked past Las Perlas the first time I was looking for it on Calle las Perlas – it’s got this understated charm that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel,” which honestly ended up being one of my favorite things about the place. It sits right in La Mareta, and if you’re not familiar with this little corner of the island, it’s one of those spots where you actually hear more Spanish than English being spoken, which gives you a real sense of what local life feels like here.
The thing that struck me most was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the area. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star place so you’re not getting marble bathrooms or anything fancy, but the woman at reception (I think her name was Carmen?) pointed me toward this little coastal path that I never would have found on my own – starts just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel and gives you these incredible views without the crowds you get at the more obvious viewpoints. The rooms are clean and comfortable in that no-nonsense way that actually lets you sleep well, and honestly, the beds were better than some 4-star places I’ve stayed at. You can hear a bit of street noise in the mornings, but it’s more like gentle life happening rather than traffic chaos.
What really gets me about Las Perlas is how it feels like a place locals would actually recommend to their friends – and I discovered that’s basically what happened with me. The couple who runs the little café down the street (incredible cortados, by the way) told me they’ve been sending people here for years because, as they put it, “it’s serious about being a good hotel without trying to be something it’s not.” The location works perfectly if you want to explore beyond the typical tourist circuit – you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the resort strips that you can actually breathe. Parking isn’t a nightmare like it is closer to the main beaches, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. I arrived pretty late on a Sunday and they were still happy to give me proper recommendations for dinner, not just the usual tourist trap suggestions. That perfect 10 rating makes sense to me – it’s not about luxury amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies, it’s about a place that does exactly what it promises and does it really well.

Perfect stay – Zoltan from Hungary – 22 May 2025 (10/10)
This place was absolutely perfect – exactly like the pictures! Located in a peaceful and quiet little village right next to the ocean, far away of the noisy mass tourism and it offered everything we were hoping for. The apartment is on the second floor of a building faces to a small bay where you can swim.
The view of the sea from the apartment is simply breathtaking. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything you might need, even more, including a well-stocked kitchen. We haven’t meet the owners, everything was organized online however we were warmly welcomed with wine, chocolate, and soft drinks, which was such a lovely touch.
The hosts were kind and helpful, always quick to respond to any questions via WhatsApp.
Highly, highly recommended – we would definitely come back!
