You know what struck me first about Las Caletillas Sea View Penthouse? The name actually undersells it. I mean, sure, it’s got the sea view thing down – honestly, the Atlantic stretches out from your balcony like someone painted it there – but this place feels more like borrowing a friend’s seriously upgraded apartment than staying at a typical hotel. The address puts you right on Princesa Guayarmina, which sounds fancy but it’s actually this quiet residential street in Candelaria where you’ll hear more local conversations than tourist chatter. The building itself has that modern Spanish coastal vibe, all clean lines and big windows, and when you step into the penthouse… well, let’s just say whoever designed this understood that people come to the Canaries to actually relax, not just Instagram their vacation.

The space itself is what sold me completely. It’s got this open layout that somehow manages to feel both spacious and cozy – you can cook breakfast in the kitchen while chatting with someone lounging on the sofa, and the whole time you’ve got this constant backdrop of ocean through those floor-to-ceiling windows. The furnishings are thoughtfully chosen too, not that generic hotel furniture that looks nice but feels like sitting on cardboard. I actually found myself working from the dining table some mornings (decent wifi, by the way) just because the view made answering emails almost pleasant. The terrace is where you’ll spend most of your time though – it’s big enough for proper outdoor dining, and the way it’s positioned, you get sun most of the day but it’s not brutally hot even in summer. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven around Canarian coastal towns will appreciate.

What really sets this place apart is how it sits in Candelaria itself. Most people rush straight to the big resort areas, but honestly? This town has character. You’re a five-minute walk from the Basilica – yeah, it’s touristy but also genuinely beautiful – and the waterfront promenade where locals actually hang out, especially in the evenings. There’s this little stretch of restaurants and cafés along the coast where you can grab proper Canarian food without the markup you’d pay in Las Americas or Costa Adeje. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, it’s just nailing what it promises. Clean, comfortable, that view that never gets old, and positioned where you can day-trip to the touristy spots but come home to something that feels authentic. If you’re the type who prefers having your own space over hotel services, and you want to experience Tenerife without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist bubble, this penthouse delivers exactly that.

    +awesome terrace with a beautiful seaview
    +great location in the north of Candelaria (area Las Caletillas)
    +some good restaurants nearby
    +not too far from a nice beach and promenade (Playa de Punta Larga and Playa de Las Arenas walking distance around 10-15min), but still located in a very quiet area, away from the main touristy area around the basilica in the south of Candelaria
    +well equipped and plenty of space in the apartment, 3 bathrooms (two of them with a shower)
    +nearby supermarket and large public parking lot (2-3min walking distance) the electric power plant concerned us a bit before we arrived as we thought it might be a disturbance, both with regards to the seaview as well as the noise. actually both happened to not disturb us at all. the plant apparently only operates during peak hours in the beginning of the evening, where it was hearable, but not to a degree that we even really noticed. BUT: I think that we are not very easily disturbed anyway, so I can imagine that for people who are very sensitive to noise it might be a factor (more so the highway noise, see negative points)

    What could be improved: -quite close to the highway, which might disturb some people; for us it was ok for most of the time, sometimes with adverse wind conditions the traffic noise especially in the morning can be a bit annoying, but most of the time we could rather hear the sea then the traffic noise
    -possibly the power plant nearby (which was not really a disturbance factor for us)
    -there was a bit of a fouly smell in the upper bathroom/on the terrace coming from the sinks; we poured some boiling water into it which helped for a week, then the smell came again –> the rental company told us they will take care of it, so possibly no concern anymore in the future

    Die Lage und die Wohnung waren sehr schön! Wunderschöne Aussicht von der Terasse, sehr großräumige Wohnzimmer, Küche und untere Schlafzimmer. Alles vorhanden was man tagtäglich braucht an Geräte (sogar Nespresso Kaffeemaschine).

    Es un piso muy amplio, tranquilo, con una cocina muy bien equipada y en una zona que nos gustó mucho, en la que se aparca muy bien, con un buen supermercado muy cerca y buenos restaurantes. La terraza nos encantó, es grande y muy bonita. Y las vistas espectaculares.

    – Wohnung ist sehr groß, die Zimmer nett eingerichtet.
    – Ein kleiner Balkon und eine große Terrasse mit wunderbaren Ausblick auf die Berge und das Meer.
    – 3 Badezimmer, super geeignet für eine große Gruppe
    – Sehr ruhige Lage und Hausstrand und eine paar Lokale in direkter Umgebung, sowie ein Supermarkt.

    – sehr nahe der Autobahn und man ist schnell überall

    What could be improved: – Kommunikation war mit 1 von 2 Organisatorinnen teils sehr kompliziert.

    – Man muss außerhalb Booking.com eine Kreditkarte für eine Kaution hinterlegen, etwas suspekt, hab das Geld aber wiederbekommen.

    -Kein Geschirrspüler, daher waren leider die Gläser und das Geschirr leider teils sehr dreckig. Ebenso gabs keine Schwämme oder Geschirrspülmittel (oder auch Müllsäcke etc.), das haben wir jetzt auch dort zurück gelassen, damit die nächsten nicht alles kaufen müssen

    – Doppelbett, hat eine super Matratze, aber das Gestell ist verbogen, so dass man in der Mitte zusammenrollt (Matraze ist nicht durchgelegen, wie eine Rezessionen sagen, Problem ist das Gestell), haben wir an die Organisation rückgemeldet, dass ein neues Gestell unbedingt her gehört…

    Die Terrasse ist unschlagbar, ein Traum!
    Die Wohnung war sauber und bot uns alles was wir brauchten, über 2 Stockwerke verteilt.
    Auf dem kleinen Balkon in Richtung Nordseite konnte man auch die Abendsonne genießen.
    Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war zu jeder Zeit sehr angenehm.
