Look, I’ll be straight with you about La Vista Bonita – it’s one of those places that makes you wonder why you ever bothered with the crowded hotels up in Costa Adeje. Tucked away on Avenida J.M. Galván Bello in San Miguel de Abona, this four-star gem sits in what I’d call the “real” Tenerife, where you’re not dodging tour groups every five minutes but you’re still close enough to everything that matters.

The first thing that hits you is honestly how quiet it is here. I mean, you’re maybe fifteen minutes from the airport (which is actually perfect – no crazy transfer times), but you’d never know it. The whole San Miguel area has this laid-back vibe that the southern resorts sort of… well, they’ve lost that over the years. What really sold me on this place was the attention to detail – and I’m talking about stuff that matters to actual travelers, not just pretty lobby photos. The rooms are thoughtfully designed with proper blackout curtains (thank god), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which you know is hit or miss in a lot of Spanish hotels. The pool area doesn’t feel like a sardine can, and there’s actually space to read a book without someone’s kids cannon-balling two feet from your lounger.

Here’s what I really appreciate about La Vista Bonita – they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between being polished and being authentic. The staff genuinely knows the area, so when you ask about local restaurants, they’re not just handing you a generic tourist map. They’ll tell you about the little family place down in Amarilla Golf or point you toward the hiking trails that most visitors never discover. Speaking of location, you’re perfectly positioned to explore the quieter side of Tenerife’s south coast. The black sand beaches are a short drive away, and if you want to venture to the busier spots like Playa de las Américas, it’s totally doable but you get to escape back to this peaceful bubble. The whole area around here feels more… I don’t know, more Spanish? You’ll hear locals chatting in the morning, there’s a proper neighborhood feel, and the sunsets – honestly, the sunsets from this part of the island are something else. That 9.4 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here because it’s not trying to be everything to everyone. Instead, it just does everything well, from the genuinely comfortable beds to the breakfast that doesn’t feel like it came from a factory. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to spend time at the hotel instead of just crashing there between excursions.

  Bernardo was at the apartment to meet us but unfortunately our bus was held up in traffic. He had to leave but sent us a video message and instructions to get into the apartment. Everything was clean and tidy and Bernardo provided a few things over and above what we'd expect. For example, towels for the pool, a coffee maker with loads of pods, washing up liquid and detergent for the washing machine. Shower gel and shampoo and a few other helpful items.

  Nice and calm location and view from balcony. Appartment is clean and well equipped. The host Bernardo is very helpful and provides information about everything you need. The area is secured with a gate and we also saw a night guard. Supermarkets are near and also the beach is at walking distance.
