You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to La Nea Beach Apartment on Calle Elcano – honestly, the name made it sound like just another generic beachside rental. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked right there in Radazul, which if you don’t know the area, is this sort of quieter pocket along Tenerife’s coast that locals seem to prefer over the tourist chaos further south. The building itself has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and I mean, when you’re getting a 9.5 rating, there’s usually a reason for it.

What really got me was how thoughtfully everything’s set up here. The apartments – because that’s what they are, proper apartments, not hotel rooms with a kitchenette thrown in – feel like someone actually lives there and cares about the details. The kitchen has decent knives (you’d be amazed how rare that is), the wifi actually works everywhere, and there’s this great little balcony situation where you can have your morning coffee while watching the Atlantic do its thing. The beach access is ridiculously easy too – you’re literally a two-minute walk from this nice stretch of dark sand that’s way less crowded than the beaches everyone talks about. I spent most mornings there before 9 AM when it was practically empty, just the sound of waves and maybe a few locals walking their dogs.

Here’s the thing though – Radazul isn’t exactly party central, which depending on what you’re after, could be perfect or totally wrong for you. It’s got this residential feel where you’ll hear Spanish conversations from the neighbors’ balconies in the evening, and the closest real action is probably a 15-minute drive toward Santa Cruz. But honestly? That’s part of what makes La Nea special. You get this authentic slice of how people actually live in the Canaries, plus you’re close enough to explore but far enough to decompress. The staff (well, the woman who handled check-in) was genuinely helpful about restaurant recommendations too – pointed me toward this little place up the street that I never would’ve found otherwise. Four stars feels about right for the official rating, but with that 9.5 guest score, you’re getting something that punches above its weight class without the premium price tag of the resort hotels.
