Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places along Tenerife’s southern coast, and La Dolce Casa caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how Costa Del Silencio got its name, right? It literally means “Coast of Silence” – and honestly, after dealing with the tourist chaos in Los Cristianos just up the road, this little pocket of calm feels like finding a secret. The hotel sits right on Avenida Jose Antonio Tavio, which sounds fancy but it’s actually just the main drag through this quiet residential area where locals actually live and work. What I loved immediately was how the place doesn’t try to be something it’s not – it’s a solid 3-star that punches above its weight because the people running it actually care.

The thing about this part of Tenerife is that most tourists zoom right past it heading to the flashier resorts, but that’s exactly why it works. You’re maybe ten minutes from the airport (which is clutch when you’re dragging luggage), but you’re also in this surprisingly authentic slice of island life. I mean, there’s a proper local bakery two blocks down where the woman behind the counter will patiently help you stumble through ordering in Spanish, and the little supermarket stocks actual Spanish products instead of just tourist snacks. The hotel itself – well, it’s got that lived-in comfort that you can’t fake. The rooms aren’t Instagram-perfect, but they’re clean and thoughtfully arranged, with those little touches that show someone’s been paying attention. Like, the bathroom actually has decent water pressure (trust me, this matters), and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you slept in a hammock.

What really sold me was the genuine warmth of the staff – not the rehearsed hotel smile, but actual helpfulness. When I was trying to figure out the bus routes to Mount Teide, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a pamphlet; he actually drew out the connections and warned me about the timing. And here’s something you won’t find in most hotel descriptions – the place gets genuinely quiet at night. No drunk tourists stumbling past at 3 AM, no thumping music from nearby clubs. Just the sound of the ocean, which is maybe a five-minute walk away. The 8.1 rating makes total sense when you realize this isn’t about luxury amenities or fancy lobbies – it’s about being in a place that works, where you can actually relax and feel like you’re experiencing a bit of real Canarian life instead of just another tourist bubble.

  I liked everything about the apartment. It's clean and comfortable, close to the pool which is amazing and to the shops and restaurants. There is even a small sandy beach in walking distance. I liked that whole the area is not so touristy, Las Galletas is especially nice, with no English bars. The apartment is in a good location to explore Tenerife and the bus stop is nearby.The 467 goes to everywhere the bigger tourist resorts and water parks.. You can also book excursions from Costa Silencio. Isabella was always available and friendly and helpful and the apartment was ready for me before checking in time. Check in was easy. I am planning to return, as I really had a lovely time. Weather was perfect Sunny everyday 24, 26+. I stayed ,10 nights in March.
  
  What could be improved: There isn't an oven just a microwave and stove top.

• So comfortable & quiet a stones throw from Las Galletas – Claudia from United Kingdom – 28 December 2023 (10/10)

  Location was perfect for me. If you want to be close to Las Galletas the local harbour village/town then this apartment is really well placed within a short nice walk (standard walk takes around 8-15 mins depending on mobility).. all on the flat.
  The complex is currently (end of 2023) having upgrade ground works which on the days it was happening was noisy early morning. It wasn’t every day.
  Apart from the small suggestion below, there is everything you could need for a comfy stay.
  The bed set up as one king (but could be two singles) was enormous and very comfortable.
  And the sofa. Really nice to have a comfortable ‘proper’ sofa to lounge on and not a holiday apartment typical uncomfy thing. ..
  Large, secure and removed from the main walkway terrace was great.
  Supermarket open till 10pm just outside one of the complex’s gates (the closest one to the apartment) which coincidentally and also worth noting gets locked at 10pm every night. If you’re going back later than this you need to use the gate closest to tenbel/las Galletas

  What could be improved: One small suggestion would be to upgrade the pots and pans and add a pasta strainer.
  I managed though so really wasn’t a big issue.

• This was by far the worst holiday stay we had on Tenerife – don‘t stay there! There are construction works outside, the – Anna from France – 10 January 2024 (1/10)

  The property is close to a supermarket which is convenient.
  
  What could be improved: It was very badly equipped, there were noisy construction works outside the bedroom window that were waking us up every morning around 7:30, the managing host was highly unprofessional and unfriendly. At some point we requested to get reimbursed for our stay but this wasn’t possible unfortunately. The terrace is big but you cannot open the protective grate, so it feels a little like a jail. And the apartment is very dark in general. We will definitely not come back and would not recommend this stay at all.

  Heel goed uitgerust appartement met fantastisch groot bed,fijne bank en keuken met uitgebreide inrichting en apparaten,
  We misten een broodrooster die werd zelfs door Isabella gebracht dezelfde dag!
  Fijne badkamer met wasmachine .
  Goede locatie met mooi onderhouden tuinen en alles op loopafstand, van strand la Ballena ,supermarkt en restaurants om de hoek.
  Tip schnitzel
  eten bij restaurant Fabiola dat is het restaurant van de host Isabella
  Mooi zwembad in mooie omgeving met ligbedden en stoelen,plek genoeg.
  
  What could be improved: Het grote balkon is heel fijn met grote bank en tuinset maar ligt niet in de zon en heeft tralies, wel veilig maar niet ideaal.

  Private Unterkunft, Pool war uns leider zu kalt, aber nah am Dorfzentrum und Strand. Für zwei Nächte super gewesen. Sehr gemütliches Schlafzimmer.
  
  What could be improved: Baustelle auf dem Gelände, war aber überhaupt nicht laut oder störend, nur optisch teilweise.

  Отдыхали семьёй 4 человека в конце июня начале июля. В целом оправдано цена/качество. Из плюсов: хорошее расположение, море рядом, магазины, кафе и места где можно пройтись прогуляться. По цене в кафе на одного человека около 10-15 евро, если со спиртным то около 20 евро, это не дорого по сравнению с популярным курортом Los Christinos (+10-20% к ценам Costa Del Cilencia). Тихое место, многие приезжают с домашними питомцами. Номер большой, все необходимое для проживания имеется (полотенца, шампуни, даже крема от солнца (видимо осталось от предыдущих отдыхающих)).
  
  What could be improved: Из минусов:
  Общее ощущения кризиса в данном месте (похоже весь туристо-поток идёт в более популярные места соответственно развития инфраструктуры в этом месте нет). К пляжу вопросов нет, он нормальный, вот захода в море нет, нормально поплавать у вас не получится, ну только если вы профессионально занимаетесь плаванием. Город слишком тихий, точно не подойдёт для отдыха молодежи. По номеру: все довольно старое, относительно целое, мы боялись ,
  что что-то сломается при нас и нам не вернут залог, но все выдержало и с возвратом залога вопросов не было (мы все убрали так, что стало даже чище чем при заезде).

  Ik doe al 10 jaar primavera. Dus ik weet dat het normaal goed is.
  
  What could be improved: Lek in dak. Goed dat het maar 1 hele slechte dag was. Er werd niets aan gedaan. Keuken stond blank . Jachtbak van WC stuk. Geen water in WC. Altijd emmer moeten vullen. Enkel Spaanse zenders op TV.
