You know what caught me off guard about Komfort Wellness Haus Mesa del Mar? The name sounds a bit clinical, but this place is actually one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special. It’s tucked away on Calle Medico Ernesto Castro in Tacoronte – and I mean really tucked away. The first time I went looking for it, I drove past twice because it sits so quietly among the residential streets, about a 10-minute walk uphill from the main road that cuts through town.

The thing is, once you’re inside, you get why they call it Mesa del Mar. The views are honestly spectacular – you’re perched up high enough to see the Atlantic stretching out forever, but you’re still close enough to the coast that you can actually hear the waves on quiet evenings. The wellness aspect isn’t just marketing fluff either. They’ve got this small but thoughtfully designed spa area where the massage therapist (I think her name was Carmen) actually knows what she’s doing – none of that hotel spa nonsense where they just go through the motions. The rooms are what I’d call understated elegant, if that makes sense. Clean lines, local materials, and these huge windows that frame the ocean view perfectly. I stayed in one of the sea-facing rooms on the second floor, and honestly, I spent way too much time just sitting on that little balcony with my morning coffee.

What really sealed the deal for me was the breakfast situation – they source a lot of their produce from local farms around Tacoronte (this area is actually famous for its wine, though most tourists never realize it), and you can taste the difference. The scrambled eggs come from chickens that apparently live better lives than most people, and they do this thing with local cheese and tomatoes that’s simple but perfect. The staff deserves a mention too – they’re not hovering over you every second, but when you need something, they actually listen and remember details. Maria at reception remembered I was trying to avoid the crowds at Loro Parque and pointed me toward some lesser-known hiking trails in the Anaga Mountains instead. Parking is free and easy, which is a relief because finding a spot in some parts of Tenerife can be a nightmare. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in some rooms – not a deal-breaker, but worth knowing if you’re planning to work remotely. Overall though, this place has that rare combination of being polished enough to feel special but relaxed enough that you don’t feel like you’re performing being on vacation, if you know what I mean.

  We recently had the most incredible stay at Komfort Haus, and we can’t recommend it highly enough! It has amazing views of both the ocean and mountains. The pool was absolutely gorgeous, perfect for both relaxing and having fun with the family. The hot tub and canopy area were lovely—an ideal spot to unwind and soak in the surroundings.
  
  The villa itself was spacious and nicely maintained and very clean. The beds were very comfy. Even though the evenings were a bit chilly, the outdoor fire allowed us to sit out, chat, and enjoy quality time together.
  
  Our hosts were great and always happy to help, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We were a group spanning three generations, and we all had a great time.

  Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen Urlaub mit Familie oder Freunden braucht. Die Highlights waren der beheizte Pool, das Jacuzzi und die Sauna, die auch an kälteren Tagen gut nutzbar sind. Die Vermieterin war super-freundlich, bei der Schlüsselübergabe flexibel und unkompliziert, hat uns alles gut erklärt und war über WhatsApp gut erreichbar. Aufgrund der Lage in einem Wohngebiet etwas außerhalb von Tacoronte braucht man definitiv ein Auto, ist damit dann aber in wenigen Fahrminuten an nahegelegenen Stränden, Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.
