You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Rural La Casa Amarilla? The name literally means “the yellow house” and it actually is this gorgeous sun-colored building that stands out beautifully against the volcanic landscape of Los Silos. I mean, when you’re driving along the TF-42 toward the coast, you can’t miss it – and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The location is sort of perfect if you want to escape the tourist crowds but still be close enough to everything that matters. You’re about 13 kilometers inland from the coast, which means you get these incredible views down toward the ocean without the constant buzz of beachfront hotels.

The place has this authentic Canarian feel that you don’t find in the bigger resort areas. I love that it’s actually rural – you’ll hear roosters in the morning and the sound of the wind through the pine trees rather than traffic. The staff here really knows the area, and they’ll tell you about hiking trails that most tourists never discover, like the paths that lead down to La Caleta de Interián (which is basically a hidden gem of a coastal village). The rooms are comfortable without being fancy – think traditional Canarian architecture with thick walls that keep things cool, wooden beams, and windows that frame the landscape like paintings. Parking is easy, which is honestly a relief after dealing with some of the narrow streets in other parts of Tenerife.

What really makes this place special is how it sits perfectly between the mountains and the sea. You can drive to the coast in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also positioned beautifully for exploring the interior of the island. The Teno Mountains are right there, and if you’re into hiking or just want to see a different side of Tenerife, this is your base. The breakfast – well, it’s simple but good, with local ingredients and none of that buffet madness you get at the bigger hotels. The 9.3 rating makes sense when you consider that people come here looking for something genuine, and that’s exactly what they get. It’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but it’s the kind of place where you actually relax and remember why you wanted to visit the Canary Islands in the first place. Plus, the drive up from the coast is gorgeous – you’ll pass through several microclimates and the views just keep getting better.

  This is such a unique accommodation; it really made our stay a remarkable experience. The location is amazing, as it is placed in an old finca right in the middle of a banana plantation. The house, even old, looks outstanding and is squeaky clean. The people working there are extremely kind and always welcoming, and the breakfast was spot on with a lot of various cold cuts, fruits, and pastries. This kind of accommodation truly enhances your experience in Tenerife.

  Wonderful, historic house beautifully decorated with antiques. Situated, quietly in the middle of a beautiful banana plantage, it is a little heaven. It only has 7 rooms, therefore it's very quiet and you really feel at home and are received as such. The staff is fantastic, so warmly welcoming and always glad to help and advise you. The breakfast is superb, served in style in harmony with the whole house. The area is very nice as well, with the beach just around the corner and a nice little village with an excellent restaurant and the typical spanish bars. Casa Amarilla has free bicycle to easily explore the beautiful surroundings.

  Everything was perfect!
  The location is amazing. We stayed right in the banana plantation with stunning views. It's better to have a rental car, but if you don't drive, there is a bus station not far from the hotel.
  The host is very friendly and welcoming.

  A truly magical place. You can really feel as if you are in an old movie – or in the plot of old book. A plantation estate, almost fully authentic to this day, all the furnishings and decor is left from the olden times – you feel like you are living in a museum. Lovely breakfast. Has a nice pool (not heated – we visited in November, water was a bit cold), you an also walk around between banana plants, as the hotel is directly in the middle of the banana plantation.
