The address says Güimar, but you’re actually tucked away in this surprisingly peaceful spot that feels worlds away from the typical Tenerife tourist chaos. It’s one of those places where you realize the 8.8 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen – people genuinely get what this place is about.

The thing about rural hotels is they can go either way, you know? Sometimes “rural” means charming and authentic, other times it means you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere with questionable WiFi and even more questionable plumbing. But this finca gets it right. The building itself has that weathered Canarian stone look that actually feels authentic rather than Disney-fied for tourists. I mean, sure, it’s only a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or a concierge in a fancy uniform, but honestly? That’s kind of the point. What really sold me was the location (and I know everyone says that, but hear me out). You’re about a 10-minute drive from El Puertito beach, which locals will tell you is one of the better spots for swimming without fighting crowds of cruise ship passengers. The road down there is narrow and winds through some gorgeous countryside – the kind of drive where you’ll want to stop and take photos even though you’ve seen a million sunset pictures already. Back at the hotel, the evenings are genuinely quiet. Like, you can actually hear the wind through the trees quiet, not just “less traffic noise” quiet. If you’re coming from one of the big resort areas, the contrast is pretty striking.

The staff runs the place like they actually care about it – there’s none of that corporate hotel politeness that feels rehearsed. Check-in was straightforward, parking is easy (which matters more than you’d think on this island), and they know the area well enough to give you actual useful recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the nearest tourist trap. I stayed there in late spring when things weren’t too crazy busy, and the whole vibe was just… relaxed. You know what I mean? The kind of place where you can sit outside with a drink and not feel like you need to be doing something productive every minute.

Is it perfect? Well, if you need to be within walking distance of restaurants and shops, this probably isn’t your spot. You’ll want a car, definitely. And the WiFi can be a bit spotty in some rooms – though honestly, that might be a feature rather than a bug depending on why you’re traveling. But if you’re looking for a base to explore this part of Tenerife without the resort scene, and you want to stay somewhere that feels like an actual place rather than a tourist machine, Hotel Rural Finca Salamanca delivers on that promise.

  Amazing property, loved the restaurant and the rooms. The entire property reminded me of the Spanish/Mexican soap operas I used to watch on TV as a child. Super quiet and nice.
  We needed to leave early in the morning and they prepared us the breakfast and packed it to go.

  What a hidden gem. Near to Guimar piramides. Peaceful location with wonderful gardens and beautiful restaurant with an amazing chef. Smoked baked cheescake with sorbert is a mind blowing desert. Selection of the dishes very good and food itself incredble. You must try Guimar wines!

  Just LOVE this place! We stayed a few years ago and it's still just as nice. Rooms are quiet, comfortable and clean. Restaurant for dinner really excellent.
