Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife honestly feels like stepping into one of those glossy travel magazines — you know, the ones where everything looks almost too perfect to be real. This five-star property sits right on Playa del Duque in Adeje, and I mean right on it. The lobby has this elegant, understated luxury vibe that doesn’t scream “look at me” but definitely whispers “you’ve made it.” What struck me immediately was how the staff seemed genuinely happy to see guests, not just going through the motions.
The Location Magic
Here’s the thing about Playa del Duque — it’s basically the crown jewel of Tenerife’s southern coast, and this hotel has nabbed one of the absolute best spots. You’re literally steps from some of the island’s finest golden sand, but you’re also perfectly positioned for everything else. The Costa Adeje area buzzes with upscale shops and restaurants, yet the hotel itself feels like a peaceful retreat. Couples absolutely love it here (I can see why — the sunsets from this stretch of beach are something else), and honestly, the location alone justifies the stay.
Accommodations That Deliver
The room I stayed in had that perfect balance of modern comfort and tropical elegance — think clean lines, soothing colors, and those little touches that make you feel pampered without being overwhelming. The balcony views are where this place really shines, whether you’re facing the ocean or the meticulously maintained gardens. What I appreciated most was the attention to detail — everything from the linens to the bathroom amenities felt thoughtfully chosen. The air conditioning actually works properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the beds are genuinely comfortable.
Dining and Amenities
The breakfast buffet is one of those sprawling affairs that could easily overwhelm you, but they’ve organized it well — fresh local fruits, excellent coffee, and enough variety to keep you happy whether you’re craving something light or a proper feast. The restaurant options throughout the property lean toward that refined international style you’d expect from a luxury resort. I was pleasantly surprised by the spa facilities — not huge, but well-designed and actually relaxing rather than just impressive-looking. Plus, there’s parking available right at the hotel, which honestly saves you a headache in this area.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both luxurious and genuinely welcoming. You’re not just paying for fancy finishes — though those are certainly there — you’re getting an experience that feels effortless. The beach access is unbeatable, the service strikes that perfect note between attentive and unobtrusive, and the whole property has this relaxed sophistication that makes you want to extend your stay. It’s the kind of place where you actually use all the amenities instead of just admiring them, and where the location makes every day feel like you’ve discovered something special.

Reviews of Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife
Helgi from Estonia (9/10)
Our room on 4th floor had fantastic ocean view. Hotel has large, well organized and protected garden with sufficient number of sunbeds and pools. The beach with dark sand but otherwise clean is easy to access.
Majority of visitors during our stay were middle-aged or older. General atmosphere restful, polite people, no loud music, no smoking. The only disturbing sign from visitors side was mentioned in earlier reviews: early morning reservation of sunbeds, sometimes not using them during the day.
Good food, especially seasonal fruits and juices.
Great thanks to hotel personnel, particularly reception, main and Krystal restaurant for the friendly atmosphere and nice touches.Richard from United Kingdom (9/10)
