Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Hotel LIVVO La Quinta Roja? The location is absolutely perfect – right on Glorieta de San Francisco in Garachico, which honestly feels like stepping into a postcard that somehow got real. I mean, Garachico isn’t your typical Tenerife tourist trap; it’s this charming little coastal town that most people drive right past on their way to the bigger resorts, but that’s exactly why staying here feels so special.
The hotel itself is actually built into what used to be a 16th-century mansion (you can totally tell when you walk through the entrance), and they’ve done this incredible job of keeping all the original character while making it feel genuinely luxurious. The rooms have these gorgeous wooden beams and traditional Canarian touches, but the beds are seriously comfortable and the bathrooms are modern without being sterile. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was – even though you’re literally in the heart of the old town, the thick stone walls keep things peaceful. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay memorable, not just checking boxes, which you notice in little ways like how they remember your coffee preference or give you actual useful tips about avoiding the crowds at the natural pools.
Here’s the thing about Garachico that makes this place so worth it – you’re walking distance from those famous volcanic rock pools at El Caletón, and honestly, they’re at their best early morning or late afternoon when the tour buses aren’t around. The hotel’s location means you can literally roll out of bed and be there in five minutes, which is pretty magical when you’re watching the sunrise over the Atlantic. Plus, you’re right next to some genuinely good local restaurants (not tourist traps) and the whole town has this authentic Canarian vibe that feels increasingly rare. The parking situation is actually manageable too, which anyone who’s driven around Tenerife will appreciate – there’s a decent-sized lot nearby and the hotel staff knows all the tricks for finding spots during busy periods. I’d definitely come back, especially knowing now that this part of the island stays pleasant even when the south gets overwhelming with crowds. It’s one of those places where the 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you’re there.

Fantastic location in the heart of the most charming town on Tenerife. The hotel itself is beautiful with a great sitting area in the centre and everything you could need to feel comfortable and at home. The breakfast is great and the restaurant serves quality food at good prices for dinner. The staff were very friendly and helpful the whole week that we were there. Our room was tastefully appointed and cozy. Overall a fantastic experience up there among the best that we have had.
