Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of fancy hotels, but Hotel Hacienda del Conde actually surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. First off, you’re not going to find this place unless you really know where you’re looking. It’s tucked away in Buenavista del Norte, which honestly most people skip right past on their way to the more touristy spots. But here’s the thing – that’s exactly what makes it special. The hotel sits right on Paseo Severiano Ballesteros (yeah, named after the golfer), and when you pull up, you immediately get why they charge what they charge. The building itself has this authentic hacienda feel that doesn’t scream “fake resort trying too hard,” if you know what I mean.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that adults-only vibe without being stuffy about it. The spa is genuinely impressive – I’m talking about treatments that actually work, not just expensive face masks. And the golf course? Well, let’s just say if you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll be happy. The staff seems to actually remember your name after day one, which is rarer than you’d think at five-star places. The rooms are spacious in that way where you can actually unpack your stuff without playing Tetris with your luggage. Plus, the sound insulation is solid – you won’t hear your neighbors’ conversations or the housekeeping carts at 7 AM.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location gives you options. You’re close enough to the coast that you can smell the salt air from your balcony, but far enough inland that you’re not dealing with the usual beach resort chaos. The northern part of Tenerife is honestly underrated; it’s greener, quieter, and you’ll find yourself driving through these winding roads with views that make you pull over just to take it all in. The hotel’s restaurant sources a lot of their ingredients locally, which you can actually taste – none of that generic resort food that could be from anywhere. One small thing that bugged me initially was the Wi-Fi in some common areas, but honestly, once I settled in, I realized that was probably a blessing in disguise. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience the whole package – it’s not perfect, but it’s the kind of place where the imperfections feel intentional rather than overlooked.

  A lovely adult-only hotel on the west side of tenerife which was beautifully clean and great for chilling out. My partner loved the golf course and it was easy for him to book rounds.
  We had a car drove to Garachico most evenings for dinner which was nice to mix it up
  The buffet breakfast was brilliant, with a pancake station, fresh fruit and eggs
  We also loved the tea and coffee station with fresh cakes near reception

  All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the quality of the food and ambience in the restaurant was exceptional. We really liked the layout of the balconies and facilities in the hotel which meant that there were lots of view points and opportunities to enjoy relaxing in a beautiful environment.

  Came to Tenerife for a week to celebrate my 40th birthday. We wanted to relax and so booked this place. It's a really lovely place. Very big but also quiet. There is a small spa (€ 25 for 90 min) and two big pools. When we were there in December, the water was a bit cold but still ok to swim. We also had dinner in the two restaurants and tried the buffet several times. Buffet is a bit of a hit or miss. Especially if you are vegetarian. You really need to have a car to get here. Staff were all very friendly.
