Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Home2Book Sea Views Caletillas? The name actually undersells it. I mean, yeah, you get sea views – but it’s more like you’re perched right above this dramatic stretch of Tenerife’s northeast coast where the Atlantic crashes against these incredible volcanic rock formations. The hotel sits in Candelaria, which honestly most tourists zoom past on their way to the more famous spots, but that’s exactly why I loved staying here.
The building itself is pretty modern – it’s got that clean, apartment-style setup that makes you feel less like you’re in a hotel and more like you’re crashing at a friend’s place who happens to have amazing taste. The 4-star rating feels about right, though I’d say the views bump it up a notch. My room faced directly out over the ocean, and I spent way too much time just watching the waves hit those black rocks below. The sound is constant but not annoying – sort of hypnotic, actually. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays inside despite being right on the coast. The windows must be pretty solid because I never felt like I was sleeping in a wind tunnel, which can definitely be an issue in this part of the island.
Here’s the thing about Candelaria that makes this place special – you’re literally a 10-minute walk from the Basilica and those famous Guanche statues along the waterfront. Most people just drive in, snap photos, and leave, but staying here means you get to experience it when the tour buses aren’t around. Early morning walks along the promenade are incredible, and there’s this little café near the church (I think it’s called Bar Central) where locals actually hang out. The hotel staff – who seem to actually live in the area, not just work there – pointed me toward some tapas spots I never would have found otherwise.
Parking was surprisingly easy, which if you’ve driven around Tenerife, you know is not something to take for granted. The whole check-in process was smooth, though I did notice they seem to get pretty busy during the winter months when everyone’s escaping the European cold. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it does what it promises really well. The kitchenette in my room was actually functional (not just decorative like some places), and I ended up making coffee every morning while watching the sunrise over the water.
What I’d tell someone considering this place is that it’s perfect if you want to be on the coast but away from the chaos of Los Cristianos or Playa de las Américas. You’re still only about 20 minutes from Santa Cruz if you need city amenities, but Candelaria has this authentic Canarian vibe that feels way more real. The hotel captures that perfectly – comfortable, unpretentious, with those killer views that make you remember why you came to the islands in the first place.

Superb – Daniel from Germany – 19 March 2023 (9/10)
You have a beautiful sea view and the balcony is a wonderful place to work, eat and relax. It's a spacious apartment and in the building itself there is also a community room with a small library.
What could be improved: There is only the minimum amount of equipment, e.g. only one role of toilet paper, three bags of tea etc. Everything is limited.Superb – Kokemor from Germany – 3 March 2023 (9/10)
Fantastic view! Nice neighbourhood! Perfect location to reach different spots on the island!
we had a great time and would happily go back. definitely recommend – Michael from United Kingdom – 31 December 2022 (9/10)
fabulous location with great views over the port and the sea
What could be improved: chairs outside were not v comfortableRelaxing 10 days in a lovely town, lots of shops bars and restaurants very local. – Bridgette from United Kingdom – 3 February 2025 (8/10)
We arrived later than planned so the representative had left. Only by phoning the office, first time no one picked up but they phoned us back to tell us where keys were kept.
Following that we used Whats app so not to incur costs.
What could be improved: Not a lot, no washing up bowl bur we improvised. Couldn't lower the terrace blinds, it got very hot.Very nice place, with a beautiful view on the Atlantic Ocean and the coast! – Kevin from France – 1 July 2024 (10/10)
Very good view on the balcony, appartment is clean and has everything we needed. There isn't much tourist in this city, maybe because we went there late june, still in low season, nevertheless it was exactly what we were looking for!
What could be improved: We were able to find a place to park the rented car everyday, but I think in high season it can be challenging. Tough there is a public parking available (which is not free I think, but parking in Tenerife are very affordable)possibly the worst choice I ever made for a vacation – Karine from Switzerland – 9 April 2023 (2/10)
central, Sea view
What could be improved: ugly & stuffy building, nobody there on scheduled take-over, cleaner finally gave us the keys 215 but flat was 505, elevator didn’t move on arrival, never used it afterwards (5th fl), linen & towels didn’t smell fresh, flat had a weird odour, balcony furniture no pillows… overall love-less, outdated. We made it work, but could have cried on arrival.Superb – Valerio from Italy – 16 August 2024 (9/10)
Grazie
What could be improved: Migliorerei la tenda del balcone che era bloccata; in estate penso possa essere necessaria.Trotz kleiner Mängel eine super Ferienwohnung – Angelika from Germany – 25 January 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: Ein Pünktchen Abzug weil:
