The Home2Book Sea Front Duplex sits so close to El Médano’s beach that you’ll probably wake up thinking you’re on a boat for the first morning or two. It’s this sprawling duplex setup that feels more like borrowing a friend’s beach house than staying at a typical hotel, which honestly makes the whole experience way more relaxed.

El Médano itself is sort of this windsurfing mecca that hasn’t been completely overtaken by resort chains yet – you’ll see more Germans with surfboards strapped to rental cars than tour buses, which gives you an idea of the vibe. The duplex takes full advantage of being right on the seafront promenade, and I mean you can literally roll out of bed and be on the sand in about thirty seconds. The setup inside is surprisingly spacious, with this open-plan living area that actually works for families or groups who want to hang out together without tripping over each other. The kitchen’s properly equipped too – not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation – which comes in handy since the local market is just a few blocks inland and you’ll want to try some of the Canarian potatoes and local cheese.

What really sets this place apart is how it handles the whole “seafront” thing without feeling like you’re in a fishbowl. The windows are big enough to frame those Atlantic views perfectly, but there’s enough privacy that you’re not waving at random beach walkers while you’re having coffee in your pajamas. The duplex layout means you’ve got space to spread out – bedrooms upstairs, living areas down – which actually matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with sandy swimsuits and wet towels from a day on the beach. Parking can be a bit of a dance during peak season (we’re talking summer months when the windsurfing crowd descends), but the location means you honestly don’t need a car much once you’re settled in.
