So I’ve stayed at the Home2Book Olympo Suite a few times now, and honestly, it’s become my go-to when I’m in Santa Cruz. The thing that struck me first was how it manages to feel both modern and cozy at the same time – you know those places that try too hard to be sleek and end up feeling like a dentist’s office? This isn’t that. The suites actually have character, with these warm wood accents and surprisingly comfortable seating areas where you can actually spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.

What I really appreciate is the location situation. You’re close enough to the main drag that you can walk to the good tapas spots near Plaza de España (and trust me, you want to hit up the little place with the blue awning – locals pack it for a reason), but far enough from the port area that you’re not dealing with cruise ship chaos every morning. The neighborhood has this nice residential feel during the day, though it does get a bit livelier on weekend nights – nothing crazy, just people heading to dinner late like they do here. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient.

The suite setup is where this place really shines, I mean, having actual kitchen space changes everything when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either – decent-sized fridge, proper stove, and they stock it with real dishes and cookware. I’ve made coffee there in the morning while watching the early commuters head to work, and there’s something really satisfying about that routine. The beds are solid too, not too soft, not too firm – actually, I think they upgraded the mattresses recently because they’re even better than I remembered. One small thing that bugs me is the shower pressure can be a bit weak on the higher floors, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

The staff deserves a mention because they’re genuinely helpful without being hovering. Check-in is smooth, they remember you if you’ve been there before, and they know the area well enough to give you actual recommendations instead of just pointing you toward tourist traps. I asked about the best time to visit Mercado de Nuestra Señora de África once, and the front desk guy told me exactly which vendors to hit up and when they get their fresh fish – that’s the kind of local knowledge that makes a difference.

Look, at an 8.5 rating, you’re getting quality without the premium price tag of those flashy places down by the water. It’s particularly great if you’re planning to explore the island during the day and want somewhere comfortable to decompress in the evening. The whole vibe is just… reliable, I guess? Like staying at a friend’s well-appointed apartment rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room. If you’re the type who values space, a bit of local flavor, and being able to grab groceries and make your own breakfast, this place hits the sweet spot.

  The location is perfect if you need to be in the center of the city. Lot's of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops in walking distance. Bed is very comfortable and firm. Kitchen well equipped and has everything one needs for more than just basic cooking. A dedicated working desk is a big plus. Also lot's of storage space for clothing and dresses and such.
  
  What could be improved: One big problem of this place is noise insulation. Single layered windows do not block any noise coming from the street. Because the house is in the city center, there will always be a lot of noise around. Unfortunately it is a huge drawback of otherwise ideal place. Sleeping without ear plugs was almost impossible.

  Everything in the apartment looks like new, very clean and very modern look.

  Die Lage und auch die Ausstattung ist sehr gut.
  
  What could be improved: Aufgrund der guten Lage ist es besonders am Wochenende am frühen Morgen auf der Straße und dem Taxistand ziemlich laut. Da machen viele Clubbesucher vor dem Heimweg noch Station.

  Heel centraal gelegen.
  Appartement was voorzien van alle comfort, uitstekend ingericht, van vaatwasser tot wasmachine met de nodige middelen (wastabletten en zeep) tot alles om te koken zoals zout, kruiden, olie, suiker en nog veel meer.
  
  What could be improved: Enig appartement in kantoorgedeelte van het gebouw = tijdens het weekend en de avonden is het er doods en tijdens de week zijn een aantal kantoren wel bemand. Je ziet er weliswaar niemand. Maar wat als er ‘s nachts iets gebeurd, je bent er moederziel alleen.
  Oordopjes zijn noodzakelijk want geluidsisolatie is bar slecht. Veel geluidsoverlast van de straat.
