Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Santa Cruz, and honestly, Home2Book Design & Spacious Apartment caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how city center usually means cramped and noisy? Well, this place actually manages to feel spacious – I mean, genuinely spacious, not just “spacious for a hotel room” spacious. The design bit in the name isn’t just marketing fluff either; whoever put this together clearly thought about how people actually live and move around a space.
The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without losing your mind. You’re right in the heart of Santa Cruz, which means you can walk to Plaza de España in maybe five minutes (seriously, time yourself), and all those little tapas bars along Calle Castillo are basically on your doorstep. But here’s the thing – and this surprised me – it’s not constantly loud. I was expecting city center chaos, but the apartment faces away from the main street noise, so you actually get decent sleep. The building itself feels solid, none of that thin-wall nonsense where you hear every conversation from next door.
What really got me was the attention to practical stuff that hotels usually mess up. The kitchen isn’t just for show – it’s actually equipped like someone thought “what would I need if I were cooking here?” The shower has proper pressure (thank god), and there’s enough storage space that you don’t have to live out of your suitcase. I stayed there during carnival season – which is absolutely mental in Santa Cruz, by the way – and having a proper base to retreat to made all the difference. Plus, the whole check-in process was smooth; none of that awkward waiting around in a tiny lobby situation. They’ve got it down to a science, but it still feels personal rather than corporate.
The only tiny thing I’d mention is that if you’re driving, parking in this part of Santa Cruz can be… well, let’s just say it’s an adventure. But honestly, you probably won’t need a car much once you’re there anyway. Everything’s walkable, and the tram system is actually pretty decent for getting around the island if you want to explore further out. The apartment sits right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the port area that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds at 7 AM.
I mean, a 9.5 rating sounds almost too good to be true, but after staying there, I get it. It’s not flashy or trying to impress you with marble lobbies or whatever – it just works really well. The space feels like somewhere you could actually live for a while, not just crash for a few nights. And in Santa Cruz, where you’ve got the beach, the mountains, and some seriously good food all within reach, having a solid home base like this makes the whole experience better. You know what I mean?

Exceptional – Sławomir from Poland – 6 August 2024 (10/10)
Czystość, lokalizacja w pobliżu sklepów i przystanków oraz ścisłe centrum Santa Cruz. Świetnym udogodnieniem była pralka w apartamencie. No i oczywiście klimatyzacja. Fajny kontakt.
What could be improved: Po włączeniu piekarnika wywalało główny korek.Superb – Maria from Spain – 14 July 2024 (9/10)
