Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about this place? The name’s a bit of a mouthful – Home2Book Charming Studio Santa Cruz City Views – but honestly, they’re not overselling it. I mean, when you’re standing at that window looking out over Santa Cruz, you get why they wanted to squeeze “city views” right into the title. The studio sits right in the heart of the city, and I’m talking proper city center here, not some suburb they’re trying to pass off as downtown.

The thing about staying in Santa Cruz is that you’re either going to love the energy or find it overwhelming, and this place actually manages to give you the best of both worlds. During the day, you’ve got all that street life happening below – locals heading to work, tourists figuring out the bus system to get up to Teide, the usual mix of urban sounds. But the studio’s positioned well enough that you’re not getting the full blast of traffic noise, which honestly surprised me given how central it is. The building itself has that solid, older construction feel that you don’t get in newer developments, so there’s decent sound insulation. I stayed during Carnival season (probably not the smartest move if you need your sleep), and while you could definitely hear the festivities, it wasn’t like having the party in your bedroom.

What really works here is how they’ve maximized the space without making it feel cramped. Studios can go either way – either cleverly designed or just… well, small and awkward. This one falls into the clever category. The kitchenette is actually functional, not just decorative, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights or if you’re trying to save money by not eating out for every meal. Speaking of food, you’re walking distance from some genuinely good local spots that aren’t tourist traps – there’s this little place about three blocks down that does incredible papas arrugadas, though I’m blanking on the exact name. The area’s got character, you know? Not sanitized for visitors, but not sketchy either. Just real neighborhood vibes with enough going on to keep it interesting. Check-in was straightforward, though I’d recommend confirming your arrival time because it’s not a traditional hotel setup with 24-hour desk service. The whole experience feels more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in a hotel, which some people love and others find inconvenient. For me, it worked perfectly – especially at this price point and with that 8.7 rating, which feels about right. It’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtfully done and genuinely comfortable.

  + great location near big shopping centers e.g. meridano, there is hyper dino nearby, lidl
  + 5 minutes walk from main Bus station
  + great variety of restaurants, coffee places around

  + well equipped ( microwave, electric kettle, tv, washing machine etc.)

  What could be improved: – little problems with check-in, which were quickly sorted out, code did not work
  -There was one small insect present, I think it was a cokroach, but it did not affect the stay in the apartment.

  Really nice appartment, good bed, good shower. And kitchen was complete enough, which is rare in appartments.
  Location was good for me as I organised a conference in the Auditorio de Tenerife, but it's outside the city center – that said, I just walked that whenever I met with others for dinner, a safe walk of about 15 min. Around the appartment you do find all the shops you need, even shopping malls and a Corte Ingles with excellent (but expensive) supermarket.
  
  What could be improved: Actually I would have given this appartment a 9 as rating, as everything is really fine, with the exception of ONE important aspect only: the airconditiong hardly works and it stinks. I tried working with the airco in the beginning, because despite it being winter and temperatures only around 23C in daytime (which is normally perfect for me), the appartment got stuffy and warm without airco (the windows are like giant Sun catchers, nice view though). However the airco hardly cools down the appartment at all – and it stinks, which I noticed every time I came back into the appartment. So after a few days I completely switched it off and kept the window open all the time I was inside – it's a big window so that worked fine, also at night. As it's 7th floor, no mosquitoes entered, just a fly on occasion. But clearly when the temperatures get higher towards spring and summer, this strategy would fail. Dear hosts, this airco just needs proper maintenance – cleaning, checking and probably refilling of the coolant – as goes for most aircos, it was probably never maintained at all 🙂 Maintain it, so that it properly works again without odours, and the appartment deserves the 9 I wanted to give it.

  Struttura ben posizionata: intorno ci sono ben 3 centri commerciali e per chi si vuol muovere con i mezzi pubblici è vicina alla stazione degli autobus.
