Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Home2Book Casablanca Las Teresitas Beach? It’s actually right there in San Andrés, which honestly most people don’t realize is basically the gateway to one of the Canary Islands’ most gorgeous beaches. I mean, Las Teresitas is the one with that imported golden sand from the Sahara – sounds touristy, but it’s genuinely stunning when you see it stretching out with those palm trees they planted back in the ’70s. The hotel sits close enough that you can literally walk to the beach in flip-flops, which is sort of a big deal because parking down by the sand can be absolutely brutal during peak season.
The place has this relaxed apartment-style vibe that works really well if you’re staying more than just a couple nights. I actually appreciated having a proper kitchenette because, let’s be honest, eating out every meal gets expensive fast – and the local Mercadona is just a short walk away if you want to grab some jamón ibérico and those ridiculously good Canarian bananas. What really won me over though was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re close to the action. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be some luxury resort, but everything works properly and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many places mess that up). The staff genuinely knows the area too – they pointed me toward this little guachinche up in the hills that I never would’ve found otherwise, where locals go for proper Canarian food without the tourist markup.
The whole San Andrés area has this authentic neighborhood feel that I really dig. You’ll hear roosters in the morning sometimes, which sounds annoying but is actually kind of charming when you’re sipping coffee on your balcony looking toward the ocean. The beach gets busy on weekends with families from Santa Cruz, but during weekdays it’s surprisingly peaceful – just you, some joggers, and the occasional fisherman. What makes this hotel work is that it puts you right in the middle of real island life without sacrificing comfort. Plus, that 8.8 rating? Totally makes sense once you’ve stayed there. It’s not perfect – the WiFi can be spotty sometimes, and the elevator is one of those tiny European ones that barely fits two people – but honestly, those are minor complaints when you’re this close to swimming in the Atlantic and can walk to authentic tapas bars where they still speak more Spanish than English.
