You know what hits you first when you pull up to this place? The golf course stretching out in front of you like some perfectly manicured green carpet, and then – boom – there’s Mount Teide sitting on the horizon like it’s posing for a postcard. I mean, I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels with “views,” but this one actually delivers on the promise without you having to crane your neck out a tiny window.

The location on Avenida María Ángeles Ascanio Cullen is honestly perfect if you’re looking to escape the tourist madness of the south coast but still want to be close enough to everything. San Miguel de Abona is one of those spots that locals love because it’s got character – you’ll find actual Canarian restaurants down the road where they don’t automatically hand you an English menu, and the morning sounds are birds chirping instead of tour buses rumbling past. The golf course (Amarilla Golf, obviously) is right there, which is fantastic if you’re into that, but even if you’re not, it creates this open, peaceful atmosphere that’s pretty rare in Tenerife these days.

What really won me over though was how the whole place feels… lived-in, I guess? Like, it’s definitely a 4-star property with all the comfort you’d expect, but there’s something refreshingly un-corporate about it. The staff actually remembers your name after day two, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no hard sell on spa packages or excursion bookings. Parking is easy (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re hauling suitcases in 30-degree heat), and the rooms are spacious enough that you’re not playing luggage Tetris for your entire stay. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place on the island, but everything works properly, it’s clean, and honestly, waking up to those Teide views never gets old. The golf course stays pretty quiet in the evenings too, so you’re not dealing with the constant thwack of golf balls if you want to relax on your terrace with a glass of wine and watch the sunset paint the mountain pink.

  Convenient, clean, comfortable, fully equipped apartment. Ideal for family holidays. Good swimming pool, restaurant and bar on the territory nearby supermarket and also very close the ocean. Convenient accessibility by bus. I spent 10 days with my son and we really enjoyed the island of Tenerife.

  Lägenheten är belägen i ett lugnt område och är fullt utrustad. Bil rekommenderas för optimal tillgänglighet.

  – Die Lage wirkt durch den Golfplatz recht "grün".
  – Die Poollandschaft ist sehr idyllisch
  – Das Internet ist recht gut 35k, wenn man den LTE-Router Innen vor die Terassentür stellt.
  – Wäscheklammern waren ausreichend vorhanden
  – Die Flugzeuge stören ab dem 2. Tag kaum noch. Sie kommen ca. zwischen 8:00 Uhr morgens und 1:20 Uhr nachts in einem 5 – 20 Minuten Takt. Mit geschlossener Terassentür bekommt man aber quasi nichts davon mit.
  
  What could be improved: Bei uns war überraschender Weise ein Late-Check-In notwendig. Wir hatten die Ankunftszeit auf 18-19:00 kommuniziert und als Antwort nur bestätigt bekommen, dass wir zu der Zeit einchecken könnten.
  Infos die uns gefehlt haben:
  – der Anbieter gehört nicht zu der Anlage und ist auch nicht an die Rezeption geknüpft. Er vermietet Appartments auf der Anlage separat.
  – wir hätten gerne eine Info gehabt, dass bei unserer Ankunft die Rezeption geschlossen ist und wir via Late-Check-In mit dem Sicherheitsmenschen einchecken.
  – der Sicherheitsmensch kannte das Prozedere nicht und wusste auch nicht wo unser Appartment liegt. Es hat nochmal ca. 20 Minuten gebraucht nach Ankunft an der Anlage auch an dem Appartment selbst zu sein.
  – eine kleiner Skizze (Paint auf google maps) mit dem Weg von der Rezeption zum Appartment hätte sehr geholfen, gab es aber nicht.
  
  Einige Sachen waren defekt, was ein aufmerksamer Vermieter wahrscheinlich großteils erkannt hätte, wenn man regelmäßig das Appartment überprüft:
  – 1 von 4 Gartenstühlen war an der Sitzfläche/Lehne zerbrochen
  – 1 von 2 Liegen war im Auflagestoff gerissen und an der Verschraubung defekt, dass man die Rückenlehne nicht hochstellen konnte
  – 2 von 2 Wanduhren gingen nicht (Batterie)
  – Teilen tendeckel war am Scharnier defekt, dass man ihn öfter mal komplett in der Hand hatte
  – die Handtücher waren zwar neu, aber wahrscheinlich nie vorher gewaschen, sodass man nach dem Duschen überall Fussel hatte, was äußerst unangenehm war.
  – die Waschmaschine war an der Temperatureinstellung defekt, der Knopf war eingedrückt (dauergedrückt?), sodass es man immer bei 60 ° gelandet ist.
  – vor dem Sofa ist ein Langhaarteppich auf den man barfuß nicht drauf treten wollte, weil man jede Menge Krümmel unter der Fußsohle gespürt hatte. Einen Staubsauger gibt es nicht im Appartment.
  
  Die Mängel wurden der Vermietungsargentur gemeldet, die uns direkt einen Techniker vorbei schicken wollte (wir müssten nicht vorort sein). Das haben wir abgelehnt.

  What could be improved: Er is geen fysieke balie, medewerkers van het complex werken op afstand. De receptie van het hotel aan het complex wist niet van mijn komst en ik kon daardoor moeilijk binnenkomen. Ben op dag 2 gebeld of alles naar wens was. Daarna verliep het contact moeizaam (tel wordt niet opgenomen, late reactie op apps). Het koffiezetapparaat was stuk, kon pas gefikst worden na mijn vertrek. 🙄

  El apartamento está genial, es amplio y cómodo desde la terraza se ve el Teide, estaba limpio,nos gustó mucho y la piscina muy bien.
  
  What could be improved: La limpieza en la cocina un poquito más profunda, las sábanas son individual, sería más cómodo unas sábanas de una cama grande y las almohadas no son muy cómodas.

  Apartamento amplio y bien equipado aunque no dispone de bañera hidromasaje como se describe.
  
  What could be improved: Colchón incómodo, almohadas blandas. En la terraza tienes que tener siempre la mosquitera porque hay muchas moscas.
