Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Holiday Feel D, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place tucked into this residential building on Calle Mesa del Mar. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in the most unassuming packages. This aparthotel sits in Tacoronte, which honestly feels like the real Tenerife – none of that touristy madness you get down in the southern resorts, just authentic Canarian life happening all around you.

The thing that got me right away was apartment 537’s view. I mean, you’re literally looking out over the Atlantic from your window, and on clear days (which, let’s face it, is most days here) you can see the volcanic coastline stretching toward Puerto de la Cruz. The building itself – Edificio Mar y Sol – is pretty typical for this area, nothing fancy but solid and well-maintained. What I loved was how quiet it gets at night, especially compared to the hotel zones. You’ll hear the occasional car on the street below, but mostly it’s just the sound of waves in the distance and maybe some neighbors chatting on their balconies in the evening.

Here’s what actually matters though – the location is brilliant if you want to explore the north of the island properly. You’re about a 15-minute drive to Puerto de la Cruz (parking there is a nightmare, but from here you can actually find spots), and honestly, some of the best local restaurants are right in Tacoronte. There’s this little place called Casa Tomás just a few streets over that does the most incredible papas arrugadas – I’m talking about potatoes that’ll ruin you for all other potatoes. The apartment itself has everything you need for a proper stay, not just a crash pad. Decent-sized fridge, cooking facilities that actually work, and – this is key – reliable wifi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes like so many places do. The check-in process was surprisingly smooth too, though I’d recommend confirming your arrival time because the building can be a bit tricky to find if you’re arriving after dark. GPS will get you to the general area, but the actual entrance took me a couple of tries to spot. One small thing – the elevator is one of those tiny European ones, so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, you might be making multiple trips. But honestly, for an 8.9 rating, this place delivers on what it promises without trying to be something it’s not.
