Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I walked through the front door, I could actually hear the silence. I mean, you’re technically in the heart of Amarilla Golf, but it feels like you’ve stepped into this little bubble away from everything. The villa sits on Calle Laurisilva – which honestly sounds way fancier than it looks, just a quiet residential street – but that’s exactly what makes it work.
The heated pool is the real star here, and I’m not just saying that because it’s in the name. Most rental properties throw around “heated pool” like it means something, but this one actually keeps the water at a temperature where you can slip in without doing that awkward cold-water dance. I spent most mornings there with my coffee (the kitchen’s well-stocked enough to make decent coffee, thank god), watching the golfers trickle onto the course next door. The whole setup feels private without being isolated – you’ve got your own space, but you’re still close enough to walk to the clubhouse if you want actual human interaction.
What I really appreciated was how… well, functional everything was. The villa doesn’t try to be Instagram-perfect, but it gets the important stuff right. The air conditioning actually works (crucial in San Miguel de Abona during summer), there’s proper water pressure in the shower, and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes. Small things, I know, but they matter when you’re trying to relax. The location puts you about fifteen minutes from the coast – Los Abrigos is your closest bet for proper seafood, though honestly, the drive down those winding roads takes some getting used to if you’re not familiar with Tenerife’s geography.
The golf course connection is obviously the main draw for most people, and I get it. You’re literally surrounded by fairways, which is either paradise or your worst nightmare depending on how you feel about golf. But even if you’re not into chasing little white balls around, the area has this oddly calming effect. It’s manicured enough to feel upscale, but it’s not stuffy – you’ll see families walking around in the evenings, people walking their dogs, that sort of thing. The whole Amarilla Golf development feels like it was designed by people who actually wanted to live there, not just sell timeshares.
I’d say this place works best for people who want to be near things without being in the middle of everything. You’re close enough to hit the tourist spots – the airport’s maybe twenty minutes away, and you can get to the busier parts of the south coast easily enough – but you come back to something that feels more like a neighborhood than a resort. Just don’t expect tons of nightlife within walking distance. This is more about long dinners on the terrace, late-night swims, and actually finishing that book you’ve been carrying around for months.
