You know what struck me first about Harmony House? The name actually fits – and that’s rarer than you’d think with hotels these days. Tucked away on Calle San Andrés in Golf del Sur, this place has this calm, residential feel that’s honestly refreshing after dealing with some of the more touristy spots along the coast. The building itself is pretty understated, sort of blends into the neighborhood in a good way, and you get the sense they put more thought into the experience than flashy exteriors.

Golf del Sur isn’t exactly a household name unless you’re into, well, golf – but that’s kind of the point. You’re about 15 minutes from the airport (seriously convenient when you’re dragging luggage), but it feels worlds away from that chaos. The area’s got this weird mix of retirees who’ve made Tenerife home and golfers on weekend trips, which creates this surprisingly chill vibe. I mean, you can walk to the marina in maybe 10 minutes, and there’s something nice about having actual restaurants nearby that aren’t just tourist traps. The staff at Harmony House seem to get this – they’re not overly chatty, but they know the difference between the good local spots and the places that’ll charge you €20 for mediocre paella.

What really won me over was the attention to details that actually matter. The rooms are clean without feeling sterile, and honestly, the beds are better than they have any right to be in a 4-star place. You can hear some street noise during the day, but it’s more like life happening than actual disturbance – kids playing, neighbors chatting, that sort of thing. The whole place just feels lived-in rather than corporate. Parking’s not an issue, which is huge if you’re planning to explore the island beyond the southern coast. And here’s something I appreciated – they don’t blast the air conditioning, so you’re not walking into an arctic blast every time you come back from the beach. The 8.2 rating makes sense when you add it all up; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the island, but it nails the fundamentals without any of the pretense you sometimes get at resort hotels. If you’re looking for a base that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel – assuming your friend has really good taste and keeps everything spotless – this is worth considering.

  The house was extremely well equipped, with lovely views from the patio. We were able to access our Netflix account on the tv, which was good for when we needed a break from the sun. On-site shop and cafe were great, lovely staff, and the pools were perfect – plenty of room, never too crowded, plenty of sun loungers. Unlike many other resorts, there was no need to be up early to grab a place, which made for a more relaxing holiday. The resort was generally quiet and peaceful. All in all, perfect for anyone who prefers relaxing daytimes instead of loud nightlife.
  
  What could be improved: There were quite a few ants. The house was equipped with excellent bug spray, so we could keep on top of it, but it was a nuisance at times.

• Awesome relaxing villa with a sunset view – Reelika from Estonia – 22 February 2023 (9/10)

  The villa was clean, comfortable and functional, great for a family. The kitchen was well equipped. The view from the terrace was beautiful (golf course and sunset view). The sun lounges on the terrace were awesome to get some sun, because in the pool area was super windy and cold (we visited in January). The heated pool and the playground were great. Convenient store close by. Location is awesome when you are into golfing, otherwise you need to drive or take a walk.
  
  What could be improved: The extra charge for a baby cot (5 EUR/day) and a baby high chair (5€), for a week it was extra 40EUR (everywhere else it's free).
  
  The baby high chair was too low for the dining table in the villa.

  Very spacious and in a beautiful spot.
  Good outdoor space.
  Lovely snack bar with plenty of choice.
  
  What could be improved: The matress on the bed in the ensuite room was so hard it was like lying on concrete and I ended up having a bruise on my thigh.
  1 bathtowel and 1 handtowel per person for a week was not enough.
  No extra sheets in order to change the bedding especially when the weather is very warm.
  I had to contact the Beach club regarding a few small issues which they rectified the next day.
  It is a 15 to 20 minute walk to any of the shops which is fine if you have good mobility and fortunately we have.

  Beautiful location
  It had everything we needed, all cooking utensils etc… Such a peaceful location and a stunning view of the golf course.
  
  What could be improved: It would have been nice if there were more cleaning products at the villa, we were there 10 day's and it would have been better if I was able to put a duster round. Also it's a 3 bedroom villa but only 2 sun loungers.
  Some of the property is tired and needs redecorating.

  The villa is in a lovely quiet complex, with views from the garden over the golf course. The shower was nice and powerful and the beds comfortable. There is an onsite convenience store, a bar and two small restaurants onsite which are okay. A downhill walk to nearby San Blas provides a good choice of restaurants and bars however the 20 minute walk back is uphill. Staff are all lovely and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: Villa was clean on arrival but soon realised ants are a problem here. You can’t leave a dish in the sink or a can of juice on the table for more than twenty minutes or the ants will find it and be swarming all over it. They roam around the property constantly but it seems to be an acceptable thing here. There were ant baits out but seemingly ineffective.
