Hacienda Verde Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Hacienda Verde on Camino Bebedero, I honestly wasn’t expecting much — the street name sounds like something you’d find on a rural farm road. But you know what? That’s exactly the charm of this place. This four-star property sits in La Orotava like it’s been there forever, with that authentic Canarian architecture that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something genuinely local rather than another cookie-cutter hotel.

The Perfect Orotava Spot

Here’s the thing about La Orotava that most people don’t realize until they get here — it’s this incredible sweet spot between the tourist madness of the coast and the middle-of-nowhere mountain towns. The hacienda sits right in this zone where you can actually breathe and think, but you’re not completely cut off from civilization. I mean, couples are rating the location 9.5 out of 10, and after spending time here, I get it. You’ve got those stunning views toward the coast, but you’re also surrounded by the kind of traditional Canarian landscape that makes for incredible morning walks.

Your Home Base

The room I stayed in had this wonderful balance — comfortable without being flashy, spacious without feeling empty. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep that hacienda feel while making sure everything actually works properly. The beds are solid, the bathrooms are well-designed, and there’s this sense that someone actually thought about how real people use hotel rooms. You’ll find yourself spending more time here than you planned, which is saying something for a place that’s meant to be a base for exploring Tenerife.

Practical Perks That Matter

Look, I’m not usually the guy who gets excited about parking, but when you’re dealing with the narrow streets of La Orotava, having free private parking on-site is actually a game-changer. No circling around looking for spots, no worrying about your rental car — you just pull in and you’re done. It’s one of those things that seems small until you don’t have it, and then you realize how much stress it saves you. The staff seems to understand this too — they’re helpful without being hovering, which strikes exactly the right balance for a place like this.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.2 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — it reflects something real about how this place operates. Guests keep coming back to the location (recent visitors rated it 9.1), and I think it’s because Hacienda Verde manages to feel both peaceful and connected. You’re not stuck in some resort bubble, but you’re also not roughing it in the mountains. It’s the kind of place where you can plan day trips to the Teide or the coast, then come back to somewhere that actually feels like a retreat. Honestly, for couples especially, this hits that sweet spot of romantic without being cheesy, comfortable without being boring.

Exploring Tenerife offers visitors an unforgettable journey through the Canary Islands’ crown jewel, from its UNESCO-listed Teide volcano to its pristine coastlines and world-renowned connections to Spanish culture and Atlantic beauty.

Reviews of Hacienda Verde

  • Erzsébet from Hungary (8/10)

The accommodation is located in a park which is wonderful but considering the facilities it is overpriced.

  • John from Ireland (9/10)

beautiful location amongst the trees. very relaxing and restful. The owners were very kind and hospitable.

The house is simply beautiful! We were so happy there and vould have stayed easily another week. The whole areal is stunning, lots of beautiful plants, its very quiet – you dont even hear the street.
The style of the houses is amazing and we felt at home from the first minute. The kitchen with the old stove is so cool and we also used the bbq outside. We loved heating with the pellets stove, its so cozy.
I highly recommend it if you look for an authentic, quiet, marvellous place to stay.

Rural quiet setting. Lovely house with everything we needed

The surroundings were amazing, great views

  • Jamie from United Kingdom (9/10)

Beautiful location and the finca is really well looked after and nice to walk around.

  • Heather from United Kingdom (10/10)

Beautiful grounds, very peaceful and well maintained. We stayed in the small house and it was clean and stylish with a fairly well equipped kitchen. We didn’t have a car but there are some restaurants within walking distance (just be prepared for steep hills as others have said).

  • Nadine (10/10)

"la Finca" is a great place. The entire complex is absolutely idyllic. The garden is beautiful and spacious and invites you to stroll around. The pool was cold (we were here at the end of April) but we still had fun.
The house is in very good shape and leaves nothing to be desired. The small details show how much the owners care. A lot of love was put into it. There was fresh fruit and fresh flowers.

Everything you need is there and works perfectly. In the living room there is a pellet stove (it is a bit noisy, but you probahly won't need it in the summer) and also all rooms have heating. There is plenty of hot water.
In addition, there is a complete kitchen outside (also with everything you could want) and a table + chairs for eating outside.

The streets are a bit steep, you should be prepared for that (best to check the map before).

The hosts live on the property, but due to the size of the complex you have absolute peace and quiet.
    Check-in and check-out worked excellently.

All in all, absolutely lovely finca. I would definitely like to come here again.
