Hotel Description
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hacienda La Dehesa on that narrow stretch of Calle Pura Walo, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Buenavista del Norte isn’t exactly on every tourist’s radar (which is actually part of its charm), but this adults-only place turned out to be one of those finds that makes you feel like you’re in on a secret.
The thing about this hacienda is that it gets the balance right – you know what I mean? It’s got that traditional Canarian architecture with the thick walls and interior courtyards, but they’ve updated everything without making it feel like a generic resort. The rooms are spacious enough that you’re not tripping over your suitcase, and honestly, the beds are fantastic. I’m usually a light sleeper, but the place is genuinely quiet – being adults-only definitely helps with that. The staff remembers your name after day one, which sounds small but actually makes a huge difference when you’re trying to relax.
What really sold me on this place was the location, though. You’re literally a ten-minute walk from some of the most dramatic coastline in Tenerife – I mean, the kind of black volcanic cliffs that make you stop and take way too many photos. The hotel sits in this little pocket where you can walk to the old town center (there’s this tiny local bar that serves the best papas arrugadas I’ve had), but you’re also close enough to drive up into the mountains when you want a change of scenery. The staff actually gave me directions to this hiking trail that most tourists never find – starts right behind the old church and winds up through the laurel forests. Parking at the hotel is easy, by the way, which is more than I can say for a lot of places on this island.
The pool area is where I spent most of my afternoons – it’s not huge, but it doesn’t need to be. There are these comfortable loungers tucked into different corners so you can find sun or shade depending on your mood, and the whole setup feels more like a private villa than a hotel. The breakfast is solid too – fresh local fruit, good coffee, and they make this bread that I’m still thinking about. I mean, it’s not fancy, but it’s done right. The only thing I’d mention is that if you’re looking for nightlife, you’ll want to drive to Puerto de la Cruz (about 20 minutes) – Buenavista pretty much rolls up the sidewalks after dinner, but that’s exactly why some of us love it here.

We absolutely LOVED everything about this place! The location is incredible – in the middle of a banana plantations, you feel like you're in the middle of a jungle, but at the same time you have access to all the comforts and facilities you might need. The little wellness area is great – two jacuzzis, a sauna and a pool and the breakfast area are gorgeous! When it was raining one morning, we were served breakfast directly in our room which was a very welcoming touch.
The accommodation definitely exceeded our expectations – fully-equipped kitchen, set of toiletries, bathrobes and separate towels for SPA. There is also direct access to a cliff overlooking the ocean which is an incredible view! Little town is close enough to walk to for a nice dinner or tapas.Violet from United Kingdom (9/10)
Comfy beds. Very private . Nice breakfast. Helpful staff!

Although a bit wiggly to get to, the location was stunning amidst the banana plantation. Idyllic breakfast location overlooking this and the sea. Facilities were great, room was not the most modern and a little dark but all functioned well and was very comfortable. Would definitely return.

The position was very particular, nice and peaceful. Even though Hacienda La Dehesa is close to a cemetery, this didn't bother us much. The room was clean, with a kitchen (we almost didn't use it but there's in case of need), comfortable bed, bathroom quite old but acceptable for a few days. We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace pretty much. The best part of the structure is the terrace with the amazing view! We chose this place for the position, terrace view and sauna (unfortunately, it was out of order the second day and we couldn't use it, very disappointed). The place has potential but it requires more attention to details and to clients.

Nice place to stay

Really nice location in a banana town plantation. In the north of Tenerife, far away from the most tourist attractions. Possibility to have sauna available for one hour per day. We stayed in apartment 1 and we had a nice view of the ocean and the plantation from both the room, bathroom and balcony.
The apartment was very clean.Gybarbii from Hungary (8/10)
We really liked the location of the accomodation, the milieu was beautiful! The spa section was good, really enjoyed the jacuzzi under the stars… 🙂 It is very easy to park, every apartment has its own place.

Stunning location in the middle of a banana plantation. Definitely a unique accommodation, away from the hustle and bustle, and perfect for relaxation. A bonus is that they offer a parking spot for each apartment, as well as a pool and jacuzzi.

We stayed in the Tenerife apartment no. 1 with a huge terrace overlooking the ocean and Teide. We spent two nights there during a two-week trip around the island. If we had to choose a place for a quiet holiday – this location is very good.
Peace and quiet, a place run with love, where you can feel at home. Perfectly clean. Welcome tempranillo and water. You open the freezer to cool the wine, and you find ice cubes prepared for drinks.
You open the cabinet to find a cloth – you also find mosquito spray. Everything thought out in detail, including hand sanitizer.
2 types of coffee makers and a drip coffee maker – charming. 2 sets of towels and pool towels. Hair dryer. Gel and shampoo – in the bathroom with a view of the ocean.
Good communication on whatsup/phone.
Parking space assigned to the room.
For breakfast, hot and cold drinks, prepared plates with chorizo, ham and cheese. Desserts made of granola and yoghurt, croissants. The apartment has a well-equipped kitchen – you can prepare hot breakfasts.
WiFi – available, in the event of power outages, which can happen, you are not left without communication due to good telephone coverage (mobile internet). We did not experience any problems with this.
By the pool, jacuzzi and sauna – a place to prepare meals.
In the town there are a grocery store and few restaurants. It is worth taking a flashlight with you if you want to walk back to the plantation after sunset.
Las Arenas beach is a walking distance along the sea near the golf course. From Buenavista there is a bus to Punta de Teno for 1 euro every hour – a place worth seeing.
No problems with cash or credit card payments. We arrived late, so we made formal check-in the day after arrival.Renáta from Czech Republic (9/10)
